Pro/Semi-Pro Team Management
By Lies | Published: January 28, 2009 5:54pm EST
Player Movement Periods
1. Each Free Player Movement Period will start at 9 AM ET on the Monday after a Competition and end at 5 PM ET on the Thursday, just over four weeks prior to the upcoming Competition.
2. Each Restricted Player Movement Period will start at 5 PM ET on the Thursday, just over four weeks prior to the upcoming Competition and at 11:59 PM ET on the Monday, four days prior to the upcoming Competition (Registration Deadline).
3. Each Highly Restricted Player Movement Period will start at the upcoming Competition’s Registration Deadline and end when the Team starts their first Match at the upcoming Competition.

Player Movement Rules
1. Players who wish to leave a Pro/Semi-Pro Team must File for Free Agency.
2. Players may File for Free Agency from a Pro/Semi-Pro Team during the Free Player Movement Period. Players may File for Free Agency from a Semi-Pro Team during the Restricted Player Movement Period.
3. Players who wish to join a Pro/Semi-Pro Team must submit a Join Request.
4. Players who are added to a Pro/Semi-Pro Team can’t be Released from that Team until after the upcoming Competition and they may not File for Free Agency from that Team, until after the upcoming Competition, unless they are unable to attend or physically unable to play at the upcoming Competition.
5. Pro/Semi-Pro Captains may Release or Trade 1 Player during the Free Player Movement Period.
6. Semi-Pro Captains may Release or Trade 1 Player during the Restricted Player Movement Period as long as they didn’t Release or Trade a Player during the Free Player Movement Period.
7. At least 1 other Player on the Team must approve the Captain’s request to Release or Trade a Player.
8. Players who are Released, Traded, or File for Free Agency from a Team, may not be added back to the Team until after the upcoming Competition.

Player Movement Guidelines
1. If a Pro/Semi-Pro Team is, at any time, left with fewer than 2 Players from the previous Competition’s Roster it will disband and lose Pro/Semi-Pro Status.
2. If a Pro/Semi-Pro Team’s Pro Circuit Rank Point total drops below the Minimum Point Total, it will disband and lose Pro/Semi-Pro Status. The Minimum Point Total will be 50% of the lowest ranked Semi-Pro Team’s Post-Competition Pro Circuit Rank Point total.
3. If a Pro Team has fewer than 4 Players at the end of the Free Player Movement Period, it will disband and lose Pro Status. If a Pro/Semi-Pro Team has fewer than 4 Players at the end of the Restricted Player Movement Period, it will disband and lose Pro/Semi-Pro Status. If a Semi-Pro Team has fewer than 4 Players at the end of the Free Player Movement Period, it will be ineligible for Automatic Bracket Qualification at that time. Such a Semi-Pro Team could earn Automatic Bracket Qualification at the Registration Deadline if a starting spot in the Championship Bracket were open at that time.
4. Disbanded Teams can’t reform and participate in the upcoming Event with more than 2 Players from the previous Event’s Roster.
5. All Pro/Semi-Pro Teams set to start in their upcoming Event’s Championship Bracket are locked at the end of the Free Player Movement Period. Semi-Pro Teams set to start in their upcoming Event’s Open Bracket are locked at the end of the Restricted Player Movement Period. Locked Pro/Semi-Pro Teams can only be changed if a Player is unable to attend or physically unable to play at the upcoming Competition. Locked Teams set to start in their National Championship Event’s Championship Bracket Winners Bracket can’t replace a Player who is unable to attend or physically unable to play at the upcoming Competition with a Player who has fewer than 250 Pro Circuit Rank Points.
6. When Teams are locked for the Anaheim Championship Bracket, they are also locked for the National Championship Competition. Substitute Ranking Rosters may be submitted, for the National Championship, up until the end of the Anaheim Competition’s Highly Restricted Player Movement Period. Teams that start in an Anaheim Championship Bracket that are ranked outside of the top 16 after the Anaheim Competition will no longer be locked for the National Championship Competition. If a Team gains Pro/Semi-Pro Status, resulting in them being ranked in the top 16 after the Anaheim Competition, the Team will be locked for the National Championship Competition.
7. Players who were on a Pro or Semi-Pro Team during the Restricted or Highly Restricted Player Movement Period may not be used to replace a Player who Files for Free Agency from a locked Team.
8. Players who File for Free Agency claiming that they are unable to attend or physically unable to play at the upcoming Competition may not compete at the upcoming Competition.
9. Players wishing to File for Free Agency on the grounds that they are physically unable to play must submit official documentation from a licensed physician before the start of the upcoming Competition. After official documentation has been submitted, Major League Gaming will decide whether to grant or deny the Player’s request for Free Agency.
10. All Free Agency, Join, Player Release, Trade, Release or Trade approval, Captain Election, Captain Change, Substitute Ranking, Physically Unable to Play, Team Name Change, and Team Name Rights requests must be submitted to jnelson@mlgpro.com.
11. Major League Gaming reserves the right to deny any Free Agency, Player Add, Player Release, or Player Trade request.

Other Guidelines
1. Players who File for Free Agency from Pro Teams and Pro Team Captains who Release a Player on the final day of the Free Player Movement Period will forfeit their Stipend and Pro Player Pass for the upcoming Competition.
2. If a Player Files for Free Agency from a Pro/Semi-Pro Team on the last day of the Free Player Movement Period, the Team will be given until 11:59 PM ET to complete their Roster and avoid the consequences of being incomplete.
3. If a Player Files for Free Agency from a Pro/Semi-pro Team on the last day of the Restricted Player Movement Period, the Team will be given until 11:59 PM ET on the following day to complete their Roster and avoid the consequences of being incomplete.
4. Teams that earn Pro/Semi-Pro Status must re-confirm or revise their Captain designation.  Teams will be given until 5 PM ET on the Friday after the Pro Circuit Competition to designate a Captain. Captains will be designated by majority vote. In case of a tie, the Pro Circuit Competition Captain will be designated as the Team’s Captain.
5. Pro/Semi-Pro Teams may change their Captain at any time. If a Pro/Semi-Pro Team Captain wants to File for Free Agency, they must name a new Captain of the Team. The Captain may also relinquish the role and remain on the Team. Pro/Semi-Pro Teams may request a Captain change if the other 3 Players submit a request for the same new Captain.
6. If a Pro/Semi-Pro Team disbands, the Captain will retain the right to use the Team Name and only they can pass that right on to another Player.
7. Pro/Semi-Pro Captains can request that their Team’s Name be changed at any time. However, Major League Gaming reserves the right to deny any Team Name Change request. Pro/Semi-Pro Teams won’t be allowed to change their Team Name more than twice during the 2009 Pro Circuit.
8. Pro/Semi-Pro Teams are expected to use the Team Builder, after purchasing or receiving their Team Pass, in order to correctly construct their official Team Roster and add their Coach, if applicable. Coaches must be added to the Team Builder by the Registration Deadline.

Substitute Ranking Rosters
1. Teams may submit a Roster for post-Competition Ranking and Status designation that is different from the Roster they will be competing with at the upcoming Competition (Substitute Ranking Roster). Such Rosters must be submitted before the end of the upcoming Competition’s Highly Restricted Player Movement Period.
2. Members of the Substitute Ranking Roster who are not on the upcoming Competition Roster (Substitute Players) must have been a member of the Team’s Roster for the previous Competition.
3. Substitute Players can’t participate at the upcoming Competition.
4. Members of the upcoming Competition Roster who are not on the Substitute Ranking Roster will File for Free Agency during the post-Competition Free Player Movement Period and can’t be added back to the Team during any of the post-Competition Player Movement periods.
5. Substitute Players will be added to the Team during the post-Competition Free Player Movement Period and can’t File for Free Agency from the Team, during any of the post-Competition Player Movement periods, unless they become unable to attend or physically unable to play. If a Substitute Player Files for Free Agency during any of the post-Competition Player Movement Periods, the Team will disband and lose Pro/Semi-Pro Status.
6. Substitute Ranking Roster requests must be submitted by the Pro/Semi-Pro Captain as well as the Substitute Player.
