| Everest and Secret Weapon squared off in an exciting Shadowrun Losers Bracket Semifinal match in Chicago. In the early rounds, both teams found a difficult time healing. Everest put forth a two human, troll and elf setup, while Secret Weapon used two trolls, a human, and an elf. Between the two teams, only two players had trees for many of the early rounds, forcing a lot of quick action and frantic battling. The match proceeded back and forth, with each team progressing in an arms race. Tied at four games apiece, Secret Weapon gave Bucko a rocket launcher, while Everest pulled up a couple of snipers. Ultimately, Bucko’s rockets prevailed, winning the final two rounds for Secret Weapon. Soldier, SW’s human, led the round with a 15 – 7 – 6 showing. At the start of Game 2, Lobby Attrition, Nistic put forth a strong showing, dominating the field with his teleporting and rifling. However, disorganization plagued Everest, as Sinny Boy (Everest Troll) frequently found himself isolated deep in opposing territory, allowing his body to be cleared without a resurrect. Up 4 – 3, Secret Weapon equipped Bucko with a rocket once more. |
