| On the main Xbox 360 stage, Pure topped Secret weapon in a three-game series. Pure opened to a dominant display in Game 1, taking Lobby (Small) Attrition by a 6 – 1 count. Secret Weapon retaliated with a 6 – 3 Extraction Nerve Center victory. Notable about their win was the fact that Furyk opted to run a dwarf for the map. The move proved successful, as he consistently out-rifled the opposition down the elevator hallways. The final game, Pinnacle Attrition, featured an interesting mix of play styles. Secret Weapon, with their trademark two-troll formation, were a tough combination to top when Bucko and Final Mirage were grouped together in battle. The choice is an interesting one tactically. While they gain tremendous raw combat abilities, their lack of resurrecting capacity and the severe cost of equipping a troll (katana and minigun) can quickly become a overwhelming liability. For Pure, the key to the match early on was finding a way to take out Secret Weapon’s support players. While they could easily take an isolated troll down with a series of hit-and-run attacks, Secret Weapon were very effective in backing each other up and rotating a man into firefights to cover another player’s escape. |
