Here Pure opted to implement a new strategy. They set up with trees deep into the hanger, holding the artifact and forcing StK to rush. Despite possessing two sniper rifles, StK opted to make a haphazard rush to the hanger floor. Things quickly fell apart there, as Pure eliminated StK with ease. Buoyed by the strength of their hangar setup, Pure chose to repeat the tactic. This time StK had grown wise to Pure’s methods and craftily won the round. In the final round of the game, Ogre 2 further punished Pure’s choice to set up in the hangar, using a gust to push three bodies off the map at once. The fourth and, ultimately, final game of the series, was Power Station Attrition. StK came out with their standard build once more. The decision proved fatal, as Pure’s relative lack of weaponry was ill-suited for a long-range firefight from the station roof to the sniper tower. eXt opened the slaughter with a long-range grenade, tossed the length of the map, landing at the feet of two Pure players. He threw up his hands in celebration as his hail-Mary toss resulted in a kill. |
