Secret Weapon Defeat Pure in Shadowrun

| One look at the way Secret Weapon plays the game, and it quickly becomes clear how fitting their name is. The team runs what many are referring to as a ‘new school’ troll. While Shadowrun is unarguably a relatively new title, its metagame is rapidly progressing. Bucko, the team’s troll, is part of a small but growing camp that has looked to the glider to help address the race’s mobility. Mapping a glider, AMG’s, teleport and a minigun, the slow troll can quickly become an aerial killing machine. Floating safely above AMG’s, strangles and grenades, the major tools generally used against trolls are rendered generally useless. Secondly, the team runs a dwarf. The use of dwarves is almost unheard of in the competitive community, yet Furyk uses it quite effectively. The team starts off with a surprisingly modest build, starting the match with three resurrections. While some may consider the tactic to be lacking in firepower, the strategy clearly worked against MDG Pure. Secret Weapon just dispatched the Chicago silver medalists in a convincing 6 – 2, 6 – 1 showing. Leading the charge was a 22 – 6 – 7 stat line from Final Mirage in Pinnacle Attrition. With the effort, Secret Weapon have sealed, at worst, a third place finish. In the Winners Bracket Finals, Secret Weapon will square off against TsK.
