| In a thrilling match on Orlando’s main stage, fifth-seeded Three Shot Killers took the Winners Bracket Finals to advance to the Championship Match. While they have now sealed a Top 2 finish, TsK opened the series with their backs against the wall. Game 1 of Power Station Attrition was taken by Secret Weapon, who appeared to benefit from Bucko’s gliding troll. The glider allowed him to quickly establish a presence on the roof, despite the fact that they were attacking from Lineage spawn. Down 1 – 0 in the series, TsK battled back. Game 2 of Nerve Center Extraction took a very tactical tone, as teams found themselves nearly deadlocked each round in terms of kills and money earned. While no precise way to know just how much money one has earned exists, the ability to discern who currently holds the lead in a given round became vitally important. Secret Weapon rarely ventured from their base, preferring to sit and wait for an eventual TsK charge. Ultimately, TsK took the map 6 – 5. The final game opened to a difference in build strategy. Secret Weapon found themselves at a tactical advantage, as they purchased three resurrects and a tree while TsK opted for increased vulnerability with two teleports. Nistic and Gawdlike established control of the top catwalks and gained an early lead. SW lacked mobility, as their dwarf’s relative lack of essence regeneration proved ill equipped for the vertical combat and constant teleporting that marks Pinnacle’s play. In the end, TsK won Game 3 by the count of 6 – 4. |
