Needing to pull out three consecutive wins, Infinite Potential implemented a clever tactic in Pinnacle Extraction. While most teams try to purchase a teleport or two to control the upper rafters, iP picked up two resurrects, EV and a tree to lock down the lower hallways. With only one resurrector, SW quickly found themselves at a disadvantage. Their teleports were only marginally effective in battles down low. The strategy earned them a 1 – 0 lead and allowed the team to purchase three teleports the following round. The late game was marked by Infinite Potential’s strong play on the upper rafters and vents, leading to a 6 – 2 victory. Game 6 of Pinnacle Attrition panned out similarly. While Secret Weapon opted to run two trolls, their decision to invest in two teleports first round cost them once more, as iP took the action low and benefited from having an additional resurrect. Hershey proved to be the star of the match, as his deft AMG work tackled Secret Weapon’s trolls round after round. Tied at 3 – 3, the final game took to Lobby Extraction. While Secret Weapon fell down 2 – 0 off the bat, they kept their heads in the game and battled back to win 6 – 3. The victory gave them the series win. They will now face TsK in the Championship Match, entering at a 1 – 2 deficit. |
