Shadowrun Finals Breakdown/Event Analysis

This weekend’s Shadowrun event turned the competitive community on its head. In Chicago, Shoot to Kill appeared to be in a league of their own, full of strategies and combat techniques that were simply unmatched by the competitors present at the Pheasant Run Resort. This tournament, the team suffered losses to two different teams, one of which did not even reach the Championship Match. The other, as it came to be seen, went on to win the tournament.

TsK had a lot to celebrate in Orlando

Fifth-seeded TsK truly exceeded expectations this weekend, as their fast-paced play and aggressive rushes proved to be overpowering. The team featured two members who are quite familiar with Chicago champions Shoot to Kill, to say the least. xXx, as coach of Carbon, routinely lines up opposite Ogre 2 and Walshy of Final Boss. Nistic, a famous Halo 1 pro from the Ogres’ hometown , Pickerington, Ohio, has long been overshadowed by his world-class neighbors. In Orlando, Nistic’s championship pro-gaming aspirations were realized, as he led his team to the first-place crown.

Shoot to Kill were not the only obstacle TsK faced en route to the first=place prize. In the Championship Match, the Three Shot Killers faced \Secret Weapon, who had just emerged from a close seven-game series with Infinite Potential. TsK entered the match ahead 2 – 1 from the Winners Bracket Finals. The action kicked off with Lobby (Small) Attrition and featured a distinct contrast in styles.
