It isn't easy working your way to the top-- but you have to start somewhere. No one knows this better than New Era who came out of virtually nowhere to send #1-ranked TLR to the Losers Bracket. Fresh off of their upset, New Era sat down with us to chat about preparation, their victory and all things Rainbow Six Vegas. MLG: First off, you guys came out of the amateur bracket to take down the top dogs of Vegas. Why don't you tell us how you elevated your game to make that possible? Dark Zone: I think we all just played really well. We had great teamwork and everybody came up clutch when they needed to-- every single time! MLG: It was a pretty competitive match-up. What map do you feel was the turning point in the match? Dark Zone: We would have to say Killhouse. After we came back from a 32-point lead by TLR we had the momentum to go into the third map and just dominate.
MLG: Ha ha, yes, that was quite an impressive comeback. It had the crowd on their feet. Who do you play next and are you concerned? New Era: We play Harmony N Heaven. We don't fear any team-- but especially after defeating TLR. That did a lot to boost our morale. MLG: Did you do anything special to prepare for the event? Thanatos: We played scrimmages for weeks online, it's good practice, especially when your team is scattered across the country. MLG: Good point, why don't you tell us where you are all from. Thanatos: Cincinnati, Ohio Trigga Man: Georgia JwhoJcash: New Jersey Dark Zone: Indiana MLG: So if you had to pick one game type to play exclusively, what would it be and why? JwhoJcash: That's an easy one, Conquest. It doesn't lend itself to camping which is always a plus. MLG: Congratulations on the hard work paying off. But if you frequent MLG events you know that there is still a long way to go. Is this your first MLG experience? Trigga Man: This is actually my third, I went to Charlotte. Thanatos: I'm no stranger to MLG, I have been at almost every event since 2005. MLG: Awesome, we hope to see more of you in the Championship Brackets.
