Triggers Down Avoid Upset to Type Z

Third-seeded Triggers down were a lock to make a deep run in the Halo 3 competition in the eyes of many people, but they faced a stiff challenge in Round 2 against Type Z. Though TD took The Pit CTF 3-1, they couldn't seize momentum, as Type Z won Construct Team Slayer 50-48.

Triggers Down took a 2-1 series lead after The Pit King of the Hill, winning 250-170. Type Z countered again, winning Onslaught CTF 5-3. The deciding game moved to Narrows for Team Slayer. Type Z held a slim lead for the majority of the match, but Triggers Down delivered when it mattered most, pacing themselves to a 50-41 win. They took the series 3-2 and moved to Winners Bracket Round 3.
