| MLG Meadowlands was the dawn of a new era. With MLG’s community swelling to unimaginable heights, there is a pool of hungry pro-hopefuls, tirelessly chipping away at the sport’s most established names. Nowhere is this more evidant than in this event’s Halo 3 competition, in which a combination of relative-unknowns and grizzled veterans put the pressure on last year’s Halo 2 elite. In many cases, the toppled the players they used to watch on MLG Live and made their way to the main stage for the first time. Halo 3 is truly a new game, and now we know that it’s not just speculation when we say it’s anyone’s game. We’re in for one hell of a season. Meanwhile, Gears of War’s second season got off to a phenomenal start, as last year’s National Champions came screaming out of the gate to assert their continued dominance. However, many of the league’s most experienced players have formed alliances in hopes of overthrowing the reigning champions. It’s clear that the game had benefitted from its off-season, and the brand of Gears played at the Meadowlands was more refined and more lethally tactical than ever. It will be thrilling to see what develops amongst the top ranks over the course of 2008. The following pages hold a listing of the prize money winners from MLG Meadowlands. While they are basking in the spotlight now, these faces will become burned in the minds of the competition who will be gunning for their positions at the next event. Congratulations to all of the prize winners from MLG Meadowlands! Halo 3 Meadowlands Championship 4v4 |
