Gears Winners Bracket R2 Wrap Up

 Jumping headfirst into competition, Infinity and TH3 NSAN3Z put their game faces on as they proved why they are the top two teams in Major League Gaming. Leading us away from the typical look of Infinity, vVv Prophecy seemed to begin the match-up well ahead of the number one seeded team. Taking Infinity to town in four straight rounds, Infinity stepped into War Machine one map down. Turning the tables without hesitation, Genetix found himself the only member of Infinity to have a death in this match, leading vVv to their only two kills in a very quick map. Tied at one map a piece, Infinity continued to thrive on their experience on Fuel Depot. Despite a number of team-kills early on in the match-up, Sneaky was able to lead Infinity to a 4-1 win, bringing Infinity ahead of the pack. Taking the initiative, vVv Prophecy lead Infinity on a chase for the final map. Constantly giving up the lead, Infinity seemed to be losing it on Gridlock as Sneaky once again found himself team-killing at crucial moments. Tying the game at 3 rounds a piece, it came down to a last second effort by Infinity to take the map and advance into the the final round of Winners Bracket play. Pushing straight through High Caliber, TH3 NSAN3Z took advantage of housing the two Gears of War All-Stars Killa and Predator. Taking the first two maps right out from under the feet of High Caliber, it seemed as though the end was near for High Caliber. Putting up quite a fight on Fuel Depot, High Caliber was able to gather one map from TH3 NSAN3Z in a very close match. Continuing their run through High Caliber, TH3 NSAN3Z easily took Gridlock to bring them into the Winners Bracket final against none other than the powerhouse team Infinity. |
