Gears of War National Championship Wrap-Up

 The lights are dimming as the best Gears of War players in the world are heading home. However, some will be going home with a large check in their luggage. Having gone through a number of amazing events in the 2008 Pro Circuit, we have seen one of the most intense finishes to a Gears of War event all season. The 2008 National Championship in Las Vegas has been home to the most skilled players in Gears of War competition. Entering with the first and second seeds respectively, Infinity and TH3 NSAN3Z were here to absolutely dominate competition and end up in the big show. Making their way through the Winners Bracket with no problem whatsoever, TH3 NSAN3Z played much like they did in Toronto. Having nothing but a positive attitude to every situation, TH3 NSAN3Z took their mistakes and reworked their approach towards these teams. Their most stressful match of the weekend came on Canals, where Infinity tested every member of TH3 NSAN3Z to see if they could possibly change their entire game plan. Attacked numerous times, including some rather gutsy rushes by Infinity, TH3 NSAN3Z became one of the most fierce teams to be seen in Gears of War as they were able to push the powerhouse Infinity into a corner for the second time this season. 
TH3 NSAN3Z looked strong all weekend long.
Definitely something hindering Infinity as they entered this event was the disadvantage that they had not practicing as much as they should have. Considered by many to be the best Gears of War team in history, Infinity did not show it at this point in the event. Infinity was unable to alter the game to their likings, unlike the way they had played towards the end of last season. Disappearing from competition in the past couple of events, Murder By Numbers surely had been missing out on some amazing competition as they held a very high seed throughout much of the season. Preparing for the next season as expected, the likes of MbN should impress many as we enter a new year of gaming. Touching up on the performance of Dynasty Retaliation this weekend, we have not seen the end of this crew. Becoming one of the most powerful teams in Major League Gaming, one faltered performance could not sum up the determination and energy that this team has shown at every event this season. Congratulations to TH3 INSAN3Z, as well as the rest of the talented Gears of War players who showed their skills here in Vegas. |
