Str8 Heads to Winners Finals Following 3-2 Win Over Instinct

| The second match-up of ESPN Saturday Night featured two of the MLG Pro Circuit's heaviest hitters, Str8 Rippin and Instinct, as they battled for the right to advance into the Winners Bracket Finals. Doing so would secure one of them a Top 3 finish, while the other would be sent to the Losers Bracket to fight their way through the rest of the competition. Much like the match-up between Final Boss and Triggers Down moments before, the match would be pushed to a fifth and final game, and would prove to be one of the most white-knuckle bouts we've seen thus far in Columbus. After five long, intense, and exhausting games, Str8 Rippin would emerge the victor - earning their spot against Triggers Down in the Winners Bracket Finals. Both games 1 and 2 went in favor of Str8 Rippin, and it looked as though a sweep was all but inevitable. However, Instinct had other plans as they came back to win the next two maps, and push the series into a final game of Amplified Team Slayer. Although it wasn't easy, Str8 Rippin took home Amplified with a final score of 50-46. Check back in tomorrow as Str8 Rippin takes on Triggers Down, Instinct and Final Boss fight through the Losers Bracket, and MLG's next champion is crowned. Play resumes at 10:00 am ET - Tune in! |
