Major League Gaming does not consider any pro player movement official until announced by the league’s Commissioner, John Nelson. When the roster lock occurs for the Top 16 ranked teams, MLG will bring you the official rosters for those teams. Until that time, nothing is official. MLG: Let’s start this off with the question that is on everyone’s mind. What happened with Instinct from your perspective? Walshy: Long story short, it seemed like we had all the right parts on the team and just weren’t able to execute. It just felt like a change was necessary; it was somewhat mutual. When I was approached it really wasn’t a huge surprise or anything, but at the same time I was probably willing to give it one more event. It just seemed like we had the right mix of players, but for whatever reason weren’t able to execute. MLG: Do you feel as though it was handled fairly? Walshy: There’s not really any bad blood with this one. If anything, I think the main reason for us not executing very well was the fact that Neighbor and I just didn’t mesh very well. I play the game a little bit different than he does, and I feel that we just saw things very differently. MLG: Didn’t you and Neighbor spend quite a bit of time together leading into Columbus? Walshy: Yea, we definitely spent a lot of time together. I think we both might have realized that’s what was holding us back, so we tried to spend as much time together as possible to try to get that worked out. It just never seemed to have gotten fixed. MLG: A lot of people claim to have seen a new and improved Walshy in Columbus. Do you feel as though you stepped up your game? Walshy: I felt like I played pretty good against everyone except Classic. I messed around with my sensitivity a little bit for the Classic match and that’s something you should never do at an event. I think the biggest difference I’ve made in my game is I’ve been running a lot more. I haven’t really been doing much over the past year and a half. I’d go out and play racquetball or tennis every once in a great while, but I wasn’t staying physical regularly. I’m at a point now where I’m running a mile or two every single day and I feel like it’s making a big improvement in my reaction time. MLG: Let’s back up for a moment here - what sensitivity did you switch to in the Classic match? Walshy: I was bouncing in between three and five a little bit at the LAN, and did the same against Classic. MLG: Before we move on, what is the one thing you’ll miss most about Instinct?
