Hey guys, so I haven’t blogged in a while and I figured id start by talking about Columbus. This was a turning point in the season for us and a somewhat controversial one after the event. Leading up to the event, we all practiced very hard. We had a good LAN with Carbon, which we ended up winning the overall series. This gave us some extra confidence going into the event because we knew Carbon was a solid team and had a lot of potential with their new pickup in Defy. All of the guys were a lot of fun to LAN with, it was a great overall experience. I had never really gotten to know any of the guys from Carbon, so it was really cool finally getting the chance to do so. Columbus is also close to home so my brother and I were able to drive, which is always nice not having to deal with airport complications. The drive wasn’t too bad, and Kiaeneto and Old spice hooked us up at the event with warm-up suits and custom sweatshirts, which was awesome to see everything in person. Friday started off with us against End Result. We were able to win 3-0. Next up, we were up against BtH who were fresh off their 3rd place meadowlands finish. We knew this would be a difficult round 2 but were able to win 3-1. After our round 2 matchup, we had our 2nd Old Spice autograph session of the year. We had yet another good turnout and sold quite a few hats. It never gets old to see a huge line of people all wanting your teams autographs. Pretty surreal. Next up was Str8. This was a pretty intense series. Every game was close and it all came down to game 5. They got off to a strong start this game, and put us on the defensive immediately. We were able to make a pretty good comeback, but could not pull out the win. This was a heartbreaker loss, but I think we did a pretty good job of not letting it get us down. After we lost, we all went back to the room and had a team talk and tried our best to prepare for Sunday. First up was Classic, a team that we were confident going up against but was definitely a threat. We started off strong winning game 1, and that’s about all that went our way. They controlled the series after that and knocked us out of the tournament. This was a rough loss because we all expected to win, and this tied for my worst placing so far so it was a big disappointment. Me and Roy ended up driving home on Sunday, I think neither of us really wanted to stick around to watch the finals. After the event came the tough decision making. We were obviously all disappointed with our finish and none of us expected to place as bad as we did. This is when we started looking into possibly picking up Ghost and decided to do it. With there being one less event this year, there isn’t as much time to find the right squad for nationals. Our decision was very controversial within the community, but I think that is inevitable anytime you drop someone like Dave. He’s the nicest, most genuine guy you will ever meet and I am glad that we are all still on good terms. After everything was said and done, practice commenced. Ill be blogging again shortly about Dallas. Thanks for reading.
