Nickel 9 Gives His MLG Anaheim Predictions

 As we count down the days until MLG Anaheim, we'll be bringing you predictions from some of MLG's up-and-coming amateur players. In our final edition, Nickel 9 of Flatline gives us his picks. Check 'em out below and give us your own picks in the forum thread! 
Nickel 9 (2nd from right) thinks Carbon will become the fourth team to win an event in Halo 3. What do you think?
1. Carbon- Carbon played very well and surprised a lot of people at Dallas. As long as they take it game by game, I think they will come out on top. Naded is straight up nasty. 2. Triggers Down- If Carbon doesn't take this, TD will. TD is hot off a fresh win, and this will be the test for them to see if they can hold the title. If TD comes through here, they will be set for the National Championship. 3. Instinct- This is the reunion of 5K with one of the best players in the league, Neighbor. I would love to see this team take this event, but I just don't know if they have what it takes. Every event, I think Instinct has a shot at it, but they just never seem to pull through. 4. Str8 Rippin- Hard to put this team at 4th, but I don't see a 4th to 1st bounce-back. In Elamite's interview, he hinted towards being under practiced and frustrated about not playing Heretic on LAN, meaning they aren't 100% practiced; but this team could easily take 1st with the right mindset. 5. Classic- This team has a lot of talent, and with the addition of Ghost, could have a lot of success. It will be interesting to watch this team play. Watch for Classic to pull at least one major upset. 6. Believe the Hype - I put this team here as their worst placing. Replacing Soviet was probably the best thing this team could have done. All of these players have played on BtH before. If they get hot, we might see a repeat of Meadowlands. 7. Final Boss - I used to watch FB play in Halo 2 and dominate, and I would expect them to tear it up in Anaheim; but personally, I don't like the idea of Soviet and Strongside on the same team. Both players are exceptionally skilled, but get caught doing their own thing too much for the team to succeed. 8. Relapse- This is the first time this team has started off in the Championship Bracket. Now Fearris doesn't have to worry about losing his voice, Snake Bite's going to be on fire (when is he not?), and with Loki and Max reunited, I just don't see this team placing outside of the Top 8. |
