The stage was now set for the most electrifying game to ever grace the likes of Halo 3. MLG Dallas would come down to one final game - The Pit Team Slayer. It was a classic battle of attrition, and the amount of emotion poured into this game was radiating into the crowd and the thousands of spectators watching diligently from home. Simply put - It was the epitome of what MLG is all about. Up to this point, Str8 Rippin had failed to win a single Team Slayer against Triggers Down. Additionally, TD had gone undefeated in the pre-event LAN on this exact gametype. With the odds stacked heavily against Str8, the match got off to a 20-15 lead by Triggers Down. Snipedown and Hysteria, two of the best snipers in the game, went toe to toe with snipers in hand throughout the match’s duration – both pulling off shots that had the crowd cheering at previously unknown levels. Triggers Down continued to add onto their lead up until the match had passed its halfway point. It was then that Str8 began their comeback. Snipedown was putting on the performance of a lifetime, racking up kill after kill until Str8 had miraculously brought the game to a tie at 45-45. Snipedown was eventually put to rest at 48-47, at which point TD pushed into Str8’s side of the map to kill the two final players needed to give them the win. The intensity of what had just occurred simply cannot be put into words, and it was the perfect ending to what will go down as one of the most memorable matches in Halo 3’s first season. But don’t take our word for it. Due to the incredible nature of the final game, we’ve uploaded it for you to witness first hand.
