BuLLeTz Gives His Meadowlands H3 Predictions

After several excruciating months of waiting, the kickoff to the 2009 MLG Pro Circuit is finally here. Fans have been anxiously awaiting this event since Str8 Rippin held up their $100,000 check on the Main Stage in Vegas last November. Over the course of the next couple of days we'll be bringing you some Meadowlands predictions from some of MLG's most knowledgeable community members. In our first edition, BuLLeTz, a player who has made the Championship Bracket in all seven events he's attended, gave us his take on how Meadowlands will play out. Be sure to check out his picks below, and then post your own predictions in our forums.
BuLLeTz (far right) thinks Str8 Rippin will kick off the season with a first place finish.
1. Str8 Rippin - They are going into the opener as the 2008 National Champions, which automatically makes them the team to beat. On top of that, they are the only pro team to keep the same roster during the off-season. T2 is easily recognized as one of the best leaders in the game; then they have Snipedown, who can change the momentum of any game in the matter of seconds. 2. Instinct - The acquisition of Neighbor will make this team extremely tough to beat. With a mastermind in Walshy, the strong support of Lunchbox, and the slaying of Neighbor and Roy, Instinct is easily one of the best teams on paper. There's no doubt why Neighbor and Roy were voted as two of the three best overall players by the pro player's association. 3. Triggers Down - By picking up Heinz and Pistola, TD added a tremendous amount of talent to their team. They are two of the youngest players in the league, and are easily two of the best skill-wise. Hysteria and SK have been together since the beginning of last season, so they obviously know what they are doing since they won 2 events in 2008. 4. Final Boss - This will be the 1st event that Ogre 2 and Ogre 1 will not be on the same team and that will definitely affect the brothers. However, the duo of Mackeo and Victory will bring tons of teamwork to FB. Throw FearItSelf in the mix, and you have a very dominant team. I can not see them losing to any team that's not in the Top 3. 5. Carbon - They were one of the biggest surprises at the 2008 National Championships placing 3rd. The way Cpt Anarchy was playing at Vegas was unmatched. If he plays as well as he did at Vegas, Carbon will be an extremely tough team to beat. The teamwork and dedication of Carbon will continue throughout the season, and I think their placings will improve from event to event. 6. Status Quo - Status Quo is probably the most hyped team throughout the MLG community, and for good reason. StrongSide is the only one on the team to have ever placed Top 8, so he will need to contribute leadership skills to make the team successful. They have had countless amounts of LAN practice against some of the top teams, and did well in every single one of them. 7. vG New Order - Karma has always been one of the smartest and most skilled players on the circuit. Give him the slaying power of Naded, and they will be a very good team. Bestman and Defy have been teaming together throughout the 2008 Season, so they have teamwork on another level. If all four of them mesh well together, they will be a top team come season's end. 8. Classic - Last opener, Classic was probably the biggest surprise of all, placing 2nd. The following event they fell to 5th, and then preceded with a roster change since their team was not working out. If they can put that behind them, they will place Top 8; however, I don't see them placing much better than that. Surprise team: Heaven and Earth - Going into the opener, Heaven and Earth is seeded last among all the pro teams, which makes them the underdog. They will probably lose to Triggers Down in Winners Round 1, so they will have to battle their way through Losers Bracket. If one of the Top 8 teams I predicted don't make Top 8, I would pick HaE to replace them. |
