MLG Interviews Pistol and the J-E-T-S Jets Jets Jets

MLG: A lot of teams split up and head for greener pastures after a performance like that. Are you guys planning on sticking together for Dallas?

Arkanum: We are in no way thinking of splitting up. The pasture may seem greener after doing something like that, but the best chances and true green pastures are always with the people who you break out with. That’s MY team. I love my team.

Mimic: There is no doubt we will be together. We all understand that we played an important part of the team in Columbus. None of our egos have grown since, and we all believe with practice and motivation we will create our own pasture.

Pistol: After the tournament we didn't even really talk about it. We just went on with our days and after all of us got home, all we said was "When are we going to start practicing?"

IceVayne: Yes, were sticking together no questions asked. We did so well with a little amount of practice time, but it showed - like in the series with Classic where we made small mistakes. Now it's only time for us to keep growing and improving as a team.

MLG: Always good to see. Now, you had one of the only females to ever coach a Halo 3 team on the Main Stage. In what ways did she help you guys out?

Mimic: It was really nice having a females voice in between 3 male voices. It made it easier to understand who was calling out what. It was her first event as a coach and she will be well prepared for Dallas.

IceVayne: She was good about making sure we we're focusing on our game, but like Mimic said - it was nice to have a female voice to listen to.

Arkanum: The fact that she was Mimic's girlfriend meant she had a close connection to us already - as though she were another teammate like any of us, so it was comforting. She was easy to distinguish. She did well at keeping us focused in game, and personally it kind of felt like an older sister. So I just felt relaxed when I was playing.

Pistol: I normally haven't liked coaches. I feel like it's just another voice yelling in the mic, but it really is easier to listen to a female then a guy.

The team had the crowd in Columbus worked into a frenzy with constant support as they made their way through the Championship Bracket.

MLG: So she was able to keep you calm at times?

Mimic: Yeah, sometimes when everyone is yelling stuff out all you hear is three loud voices; but when you hear that tiny girl voice chime in, it kind of gives everyone a break. (laughs)

MLG: Do you think the fact that you had to play all weekend gave you an advantage by helping you stay warm?

Mimic: I think the advantage it gave us was practice. We had so much to work on after the first few rounds and the fact that we never really got a big break helped us focus on the little things we were doing in game that were costing us.

IceVayne: Playing through AM definitely does help you stay warm. I know for myself, two of my best placings have come from me playing through AM. It also gave us time to practice a couple gametypes against other AM teams that were hungry to beat us, which made us play more on top of our game

Pistol: Yeah it did. The tournament was pretty much our practice. There was a huge difference of our play style from the first few rounds and the end of the tourny. We jus took it round by round and game by game.

Arkanum: Eh, it was actually very tiring and, considering half of the time we were on split screen, made it difficult; but overall, I'd say I felt warm most of the time. I was also really hungry though and I suck when I'm hungry or really thirsty, so that made it hard.

MLG: So fatigue became a factor towards the end of the tournament?

Mimic: I would say yes - definitely on me. When we woke up Sunday we were pretty refreshed and confident but you could tell we were a little off of our game. We started making those little mistakes again that cost us early. I think everyone was getting Halo’d out.

IceVayne: Sunday you could tell we became a little fatigued with the Classic match and onward with the consolation matches. I've never played so much Halo in one day at a tournament like we did on Saturday.

Pistol: Not at all for me. I didn't really get any sleep the whole weekend. We just kept playing series’ and there was no time to be tired. Series after series we went in and did our thing - we wanted to win.

Arkanum: I think it did. It was like we were all Halo’d out and we kind of lacked energy. Sometimes little things got to us and messed up our frame of mind, but then again, we had a LONG weekend of Halo. Lots O' gamin'. It was fun. The fact that we have a pro seed now gives us the satisfaction of not having to play so much Halo at the event.
