MLG: So before we get into the serious stuff - We hear that you're now officially a college student. How's college life so far? Snipedown: It’s been great so far, I didn't know my roommate going into the semester so I was a little bit skeptical, but he’s a chill guy. It’s also nice being surrounded by kids my own age all the time. It gives you your freedoms. The internet is amazing as well - best I have ever played on. MLG: What college are you going to, how long have you been there, and what's your major? Snipedown: I’m currently enrolled at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. We are in our 6th week of school and the time is just flying by. I haven't decided for sure what my major is going to be but it's most likely going to be a combination of Marketing and Business. I’ll major or minor on both of them. MLG: Shockwave has managed to go through college while still dominating the professional gaming scene throughout the years. Are you confident that you’ll be able to balance both parts of your life too? Snipedown: It’s pretty hard to do both; I’m not going to lie. Kyle and Bryan are both taking classes as well, so for the first time we actually have a practice schedule instead of getting online knowing everyone is going to be on. I play a lot during the passing periods of class time and get on at night, but when tournament time comes it's going to become a lot more stressful. I’m not 100% confident I will be able to balance all of it, but I will do whatever I can to get my priorities straight. MLG: So what kind of reactions do you get when you tell people what you do and have accomplished? Snipedown: It’s funny because there are a few people here on campus that have recognized me from my Str8 Rippin book bag, or from hearing my name from some of my friends. I gave a verbal speech about the Vegas National Championships from last year in one of my classes, and everyone's jaws basically dropped. I have not had one bad reaction, or anyone think what I do is lame; I love it. Interview continues on page 2> |
