Halo 2 Finals Game-by-Game Breakdown

Entering the Championship Finals, Final Boss held a 3-2 lead thanks to their series victory during the Winners Bracket Finals. Since they had played before, the Championship Finals became a best-of-11 series. Final Boss' earlier win gave the champions from Charlotte a head start during the Finals, meaning they would need three wins to secure the title, while Carbon would need four. Though some of the games during the Winners Bracket Finals were lopsided, the series was as close as could be. Would the Finals turn out to be just as tight?

Final Boss and Carbon prepare for the Championship FInals
Game 6, Sanctuary CTF, started the second part of the series. Almost immediately, the Ogres procured both sniper rifles, effectively establishing control of the entire map. This control led Final Boss to a score within four minutes, quick for Sanctuary CTF. Final Boss retained control for the greater part of the game, but Carbon made scoring difficult. Final Boss nabbed two more captures, but each of the three was an arduous process, requiring each member of Final Boss to move the flags. The hard work paid off in 3-0 win, though, and extended Final Boss' series lead to 4-2. Ogre 1 led a strong team effort with 30 kills to just 17 deaths.
