MLG Analyst Brick breaks down Oddball footage from professional Halo players Tsquared and Legit: Str8Rippin vs Carbon - Guardian Oddball - Legit/Tsquared’s PerspectivesStr8Rippin and Carbon went at it in a five-game series shortly after the release of MLG Version 2 settings. Str8 took the series in three games. Legit and T2 kindly sent us footage from the Guardian Oddball game. While players from both teams forewarned us that even basic strategies for all maps and game types are still in their infancy, players can still gain a lot of knowledge by watching these pros play against each other. Below you will find a list of things for which to watch out while you watch Legit and Tsquared play a solid game of Guardian Oddball. Note that the video features Tsquared’s perspective from about 11:00 remaining (when Legit jumps off the map) until about 6:10 left in the game. In future videos, we will focus more and more on elements of team strategies that separate top teams from the field. Do not over-reload the Battle Rifle. Legit and T2 avoid obsessively reloading the BR, even when at half a clip. Obviously there are many instances in which a single shot can help one of his teammates survive a fire fight. Many new players reload at the cost of firing an extra shot that can be all of the difference. (10:10, 8:25) Grab the ball instead of fighting . Legit, at the 13:00 mark, grabs the ball and ducks into a sniper tower to gain a few extra seconds. Even if you are dubbed the “main slayer,” there are times when some objective work will be needed. Never underestimate the impact a few extra oddball seconds here and there. |
