![]() For the first time in six years, all eyes will fall on Columbus as MLG makes its second stop of the 2009 Pro Circuit. While 16 powerhouse teams will battle it out in the early rounds of the Championship Bracket, several hundred hungry amateur teams will be looking to emerge from the Open Bracket to take on the pros. Some of the names below will be familiar to you, reminiscent of previous years in Pro Circuit history. Others will undoubtedly be new, but among these teams are sure to be some of tomorrow's stars. For some, Columbus will mark the first step on a path that will lead to fame, glory, and triumph. Here's our list of 16 teams you'll want to look out for at Columbus. Chilled Reality (l BaTMaYnE l, I CallMeGod I, HeLLuVa, Rudy) Chilled Reality is a team that you're probably familiar with by now. They're back for Columbus and, with the addition of circuit veteran Helluva to the squad, the team is looking to advance through the Open Bracket and make a few upsets in the early placement rounds. They certainly have the talent to do so. Driven by Adrenaline (SpeeD, _ExoDuS, xBounty, ColdHrTed) Driven by Adrenaline is another team name that has been around for quite some time. You've probably heard of SpeeD, who is regarded as a player on the rise. ColdHrTed's name has come up more recently, namely in the most recent Timeout article with Soviet. Watch out for this team as they'll likely be fighting to stay alive in the late rounds of the Open Bracket. Escape the Fate (zNightMarE., IPhatHoleI, InSaiyan, LegendJRG) Escape the Fate features a former Top 8 Halo 2 Pro in Legend JRG. Also featured is Insaiyan, who has found himself on many talented teams over the past two years. His individual skill is very impressive, but their key to success will be getting down their team shot in the early rounds of the bracket.
The Columbus Open Bracket is full of talented players looking to make their mark.
Final Storm (iAutoSwitch, savage_650, BS_Samurai_650, Ramby) Ramby and Samurai650 are back. That's right, Ramby of Storm Ventures fame has teamed up with former XiT Woundz member, Samurai650 to make their Pro Circuit return. It's been a while since we've heard from either of these players, and it will certainly be interesting to see how they fare in a new game after being away from the league for so long. Flatline (NickeL.9, Ghost_Attack, -Tuss, Snake Bite) Half of this team finished 22nd at Meadowlands under the same team name. With a brand new roster, Flatline will undoubtedly be looking to improve on that finish and make a push into the Top 20. Foxy Four (LETHALxPRINCESS, Golden-Girl, bittersweet, jadeeee) If you haven't heard the buzz lately, Golden-Girl is sick. Following the latest Pro-Am Showcase, which featured some of MLG's girl-gamers, word quickly spread of Golden-Girl's talent. She's teamed up with three other talented female gamers on Foxy Four who will be looking to be the first all-girl team to make the Championship Bracket. |
