Columbus Halo 3 Open Bracket Preview

 High Society (~Aries~, Trip., -MoNsTeR-, a Pure Gangster) Your Meadowlands Featured Amateur Team, High Society is coming into Columbus hot off a 12th place breakout finish to start the season. Despite their remarkable achievement at Meadowlands, the team decided to make a roster change, replacing Destin and Gregor with Trip and Monster. It will be interesting to see whether the move turns out to be a success, or if the team will be left wondering what could have been if they stayed together. Just Better Looking (Ray, Chrozzz, Censored., -SpinneR-) Just Better Looking, or JBL for short, features the return of Pro Circuit veteran Censored. With a Halo 2 FFA Championship under his belt, and several Top 8 Halo 2 4v4 finishes, Censored has teamed up with another Pro Circuit veteran in Ray. Both players know what it takes to perform at the top, and have paired up with two experienced players who have yet to breakout individually. With no Pro Circuit Rank Points, JBL will have to overcome their low seed and make a couple of upsets if they hope to return to the Championship Bracket. This could be one fun team to watch in the early rounds of the Open Bracket, so be sure to keep your eye on them. Unnamed Team (FeaR, Elumnite, SeVeRiNcE, MudVayne) Mudvayne and Sevirence are coming into Columbus off of a historically poor performance in Meadowlands. As members of Antigravity, the pair lost six straight series to finish in a dismal 24th place; But with a new team comes new hope and a new attitude. Mudvayne and Severince are both very talented players, and with strong players by their side like Fear and Elumnite, things are looking up for the duo as Columbus approaches. Pistol and the Jets (IceVayne, IamTheArkanum, PisToL, Mimic) Pistol and the Jets is a mockup of some players who've been around for quite some time. With a level of experience that is likely greater than any other amateur team, they'll be looking to use that to their advantage as they fight towards the Championship Bracket. This will be another fun team to watch, so be sure to check them out. pT Uprising (Mayhem., Moe_, Lokiii, Mr.Supafly) pT uprising was the second highest finishing amateur team in Meadowlands, taking 15th place overall. They've made a small roster change coming into Columbus, replacing Max/Pro with the Amateur MVP from the first ever Pro-AM Showcase, Moe. Moe has quickly risen from the depths of the unknown to become a rising star on the Pro Circuit. Be sure to watch out for this team in the Championship Bracket. If any Pro Team makes the mistake of overlooking them, they could be in for quite the surprise. Smashdown (TrueEnderE01, ideleriousS, SuperStr8SicK, Squeeks) Quite a bit of buzz has been built around Smashdown over the past few weeks, most notably following their performance in a recent LAN with VG New Order. SuperStr8Sick has been pointed to as a force to be reckoned with by many, and he'll be looking to propel his team into the spotlight at Columbus. Look for Smashdown to lay the smackdown on a few teams this weekend. Vg New Order (Karma, .Tensor, TetRa Sh0t, Naded) And then there's VG New Order. You know the name. You know Karma and Naded. By now, you've probably heard of the team's Golden Ticket opportunity and subsequent failure to secure their spot in the Championship Bracket after missing the team submission deadline. This fact could play in their favor though, as the team can use the Open Bracket as a chance to get settled in and gain some momentum. This will be Tensor's first event and the hype behind him will be tough to live up. Perhaps the ability to ease into the atmosphere during the Open Bracket will be the break that allows him to perform up to the high hopes the community has laid for him. Only time will tell.
