| After taking a heartbreaking second place finish at the Meadowlands, MbN: The Business were hit with another hardship when one of their key team members decided to leave the team in order to join The NSAN3Z. With that in mind, they headed into Columbus looking to make a statement. Not only did they accomplish what they set out to do, but they did so in dominant fashion as they took down their rivals, The NSAN3Z, in the Finals with a 6-1 series score. We sat down with them shortly after the event to find out how it all came to be. MLG: For three of you guys, this was your first MLG tournament win. Tell everyone how it felt to take home your first victory. Prospect: It’s something we’ve been fighting to get for a long time. Everyone put in hard-work and it definitely paid off. It felt great to come out on top. JaeMercs: It was amazing! Words could not explain how it felt. I’m just glad that these are the guys that I finally won a tournament with. Prison: It felt awesome. Ever since the day I first heard about MLG all I wanted to do was win. I came so close in Dallas and Toronto last year, and I just wanted to know what it felt like. It felt indescribable to finally win. MLG: Z Killer - You’re no stranger to winning the big show. How was this win different from any other? ZKiller: What made this win so much different from the others was that we met up with our biggest rivals in the Finals they didn’t even contest. Plus I had previously teamed with all the people currently on the NSANEZ. MLG: How did it feel to take down a team that you were a part of for so long?
Murder by Numbers: The Business became Gears of War 2’s latest champs with an impressive 6-1 victory over their biggest rivals, The NSAN3Z.
ZKiller:Honestly it’s hard to put into words. There was so much relief and it felt like justice was served. MLG: Let’s catch everyone up on how everything went down with your former teammate, High Distortion, before the event. How did it all play out from your perspective? Prospect: After Meadowlands, High Distortion felt that we barely won our matches. He remained on the team for a few days and suddenly he left the team to join The NSAN3Z. It was a shock to all of us. Everything basically went down through text messages so I never really knew why he left. After a while I discovered that he felt The NSAN3Z would be a complete powerhouse with him on the team. He felt that they would be the number one team because they were simply better than Legacy, and we would no longer be a threat to them because he wasn’t on the team. Once we picked up Prison we had one goal and one goal only: BEAT THE NSAN3Z. We practiced hard and showed up to the event to find The NSAN3Z acting cocky. High Distortion even brought his old The Business jersey from Meadowlands to use as intimidation. MLG: As fate would have it, you met up with him in the Columbus Finals, and beat his new team in a pretty lopsided victory. How did that feel? |
