MLG: We got word that you just finished up a LAN with Status Quo. Can you give everyone a brief summary of how everything went down? Legit: The LAN went really well. They impressed us the last time we LAN’d with them before Meadowlands, and they did this time with Clutch as well. I wasn’t really expecting what they brought, because the games were close. We played about five series. We won by a few games, but they definitely kept it close. So I could definitely see them being a sleeper team in Dallas, but it’ll all depend on whether or not they can play like they did at the LAN in the tournament. That’s all they have to do. MLG: Any chance of getting any scores out of you? Legit: (laughs) Nah - I was told to keep it a secret, so I have to stick to it! MLG: Fair enough! Let’s get right down to it then. You guys are coming off of a huge win in Columbus, and it must feel great to be coming in as the team to beat once again. But Str8 has developed a slight reputation for struggling in the very next tournament following a win. Are you approaching this event differently to avoid it from happening again? Legit: That’s definitely not the case this time around. Coming into Dallas, we’ve practiced our butts off. We’ve had three LANs in the past three weekends - all with Top 12 ranked teams. We started off with Ambush, then End Result, and just finished up with Status Quo - not to mention all of the Xbox Live practice we had leading up to the LANs. So we probably had a good two weeks of Xbox Live practice, on top of three weeks of LANing in between. Right now we’re all on point with each other, and we’re playing just as well as we did in Columbus - maybe even a little bit better. We didn’t really take a break after Columbus. We just kept the momentum going because we want to be the first team to win back-to-back in Halo 3. MLG: It seems as though you’ve put in more practice for Dallas than you did for Columbus - both online and on LAN. Do you agree? Legit: Yeah, I think we’ve put in more practice for this event than the last - and If not more, then definitely the same. I know we practiced really hard for Columbus, but we’ve practiced really, really hard for Dallas because of how much it means to all of us. We’re tired of coming into a tournament and coming away with a disappointing finish, and we’re all really determined to win back-to-back events this time - and I think we can do it. MLG: Let’s talk about the Columbus Finals - specifically the 50-29 win over TD on Narrows TS. You must be expecting them to be looking to get some revenge in Dallas, right? Legit: I think we just caught them off guard in that game. We were very aggressive, and it just seemed as though they didn’t know what to do. And we could tell because they were all just sort of running around looking a bit lost. But I’m not going to expect that same TD this time around because you have to think that they’re practicing just as hard as we are, and want it just as bad as we do.
