Dallas Old Spice Rising Star Feature Contenders Chosen!

 The 2009 Old Spice Rising Star is back to shine a spotlight on the MLG Pro Circuit’s most promising up and coming stars. Following each event of the 2009 MLG Pro Circuit, league officials will analyze individual performance statistics and select five potential Rising Stars from Halo 3 and Gears of War 2. Of the five potential Rising Stars, one player from each game will be showcased as that event’s Old Spice Rising Star Featured Contender. Featured Contenders will appear at the top the Old Spice Rising Star landing page, complete with a short description of their most notable accomplishments from the event. With two stops along the 2009 MLG Pro Circuit now behind us, it’s time to unveil the next batch of Featured Contenders of the 2009 Season. Demon D of Believe the Hype was faced with the undesirable circumstance of losing a teammate just weeks before the big event in Dallas was scheduled to take place. Despite the unfortunate chain of events, he made the best of it by putting on one of his best individual performances to date. Not only did he finish with a +45 kill/death spread while his team failed to break even, but Demon D also played a crucial role in the team’s objective strategies. He also exemplified all the makings of a great teammate by assisting a total of 185 kills. Demon D and the rest of Believe the Hype will be looking to make a bigger splash in the Halo 3 standings as the season rolls on. On the Gears of War 2 front, Skyllus has been recognized as MLG Dallas’ Featured Contender for leading his team, AmazYn, to one of the greatest upsets thus far in 2009. After being knocked to the Losers Bracket by MbN: The Business, AmazYn fought back tirelessly to eventually have their revenge on The Business with a come-from-behind upset in the Dallas Finals. Skyllus prides himself on his team’s definition of “teamwork,” and their ability to work well with one another was evident in every match they played. Skyllus and the rest of AmazYn will be looking to repeat their success once MLG Anaheim rolls around. As the 2009 MLG Pro Circuit rolls on, look for new Halo 3 and Gears of War 2 Featured Contenders to be announced shortly after each event wraps up.
