MLG Anaheim Rainbow Six Vegas 2 Rules and Settings
By Lies | Published: October 16, 2009 10:36pm EST

General Rules

  1. Players may not use a controller with Turbo capabilities, Wireless capabilities, or a Play and Charge Kit. Controllers with Turbo capabilities allow Players to map a button sequence to the Turbo button. Pressing that button results in their Character performing a set of actions that would normally require the Player to press multiple buttons.
  2. Players may not use a controller that has been modified in such a way that it alters their Character’s abilities and/or in-game mechanics. Players may not use a controller that has been modified to include a Turbo button. Players are allowed to make cosmetic changes to their controller, however, Major League Gaming reserves the right to deny the use of any controller suspected of providing an unfair competitive advantage.
  3. Players and Coaches may not use a Wireless headset or a headset that requires at outlet for power.
  4. Players and Coaches may not raise the volume of a TV above 60. This rule doesn’t apply to the GoW2 Main Stage or Players using headphones.
  5. Players and Coaches may not open the Xbox 360’s disc tray, access the Xbox 360’s dashboard, use a memory card, unplug anything from the TV, Xbox 360, or Astro Mixamp, or touch the power outlets.
  6. Players and Coaches may not intentionally manipulate a button(s), trigger(s), bumper(s), D-Pad, and/or joystick(s) on a teammate’s controller while a Game is in progress.
  7. Breaking any of General Rules #1-5 will result in a Warning. If a Player/Coach receives two Warnings, they will be issued a Technical Foul (See Pro Circuit Conduct Rules). Breaking General Rule #6 will result in a Forfeit of the Game.
  8. Players and Coaches may not appear on a Main Stage with sponsor insignia that is not approved by MLG or conflicts with MLG sponsors. Players and Coaches may be asked to wear MLG apparel for Main Stage Matches.
  9. Players may use any available USB ports on the Xbox 360 as well as any open plug-ins on the Astro Mixamp and TV.
  10. In the case of an Xbox 360/TV malfunction, the Round will be restarted from the beginning, with both Teams starting on the appropriate side of the Map.
  11. No Warm-Up Games may be played outside of scheduled Warm-Up periods.
  12. If a Team fails to report to their Station within 5 minutes of the announcement, they will Forfeit the 1st Game. 10 minutes after the announcement, a Team will Forfeit their Best of 3 Game Match or the 2nd Game of their Best of 5 Game Match. 15 minutes after the announcement, a Team will Forfeit their Best of 5 Game Match.
  13. Teams may be disqualified or forced to play a Game(s) shorthanded if a Player leaves their Station without their Referee’s permission, or is otherwise unable to play. Referees may set a time limit for a Player who has requested that they be allowed to leave their Station, however, Referees may also deny a Player’s request to leave their Station. Teams may be disqualified, or forced to play a Game(s) shorthanded, if a Player hasn’t returned by the end of the Referee’s set time limit.

Gameplay

  1. No leaving the normal boundaries of a Map.
  2. No moving away from a Satellite while capturing it.
  3. No turning Radar On. Players may view their Tactical Map while in a Game.
  4. Players and Coaches may not look at an opposing Player’s TV or projected screen.
  5. No starting Games until all Player’s status has been Set to Ready.
  6. Breaking any of Rules #1-5 will result in a Forfeit of the Game.
  7. No placing the bomb out of reach. Breaking this rule will result in a Forfeit of the Round.
  8. No use of the Corner Glitch in an attempt to hold an area of a Map for an extended period of time. Breaking this rule will result in a Foul. Fouls stay with a Team throughout the Event. Two Fouls during one Game will result in a Forfeit of the Game. Once a Team reaches two Fouls, over the course of the Event, each additional Foul will result in a Forfeit of the Game.
  9. Any sign of cheating may result in a Forfeit of the Game and possible ejection.
  10. At the start of a Round, each Player should check to make sure their attachment was equipped. If a Player doesn’t have their attachment, they may alert their Referee and request a restart of the Round. Players may request one restart per Game and it will be granted as long as a kill has not been registered.
  11. The Team that doesn't Host must choose to play as the Alpha or Bravo team for Round 1 of each Game. After each Round, Teams must switch sides.
  12. All Host choices must be made before the start of a Match.
  13. All Attack & Defend Games must be played until one Team wins 3 Rounds.
  14. All Total Conquest Games will be Best of 3 Rounds. If one Team wins 2 Rounds, the Game is over.
  15. If a Total Conquest Round ends in a tie, the Team with the most Round wins, after 3 Rounds have been played, will be given the Game win. If after 3 Rounds have been played, each Team has won an equal number of Rounds, the Game must continue and the next Team to win a Round will win the Game.
  16. Teams are permitted to start Games with three Players. However, Teams with fewer than three Players are not permitted to start Games. If a Team doesn’t have at least three Players, five minutes after the announcement, that Team must Forfeit the first Game. If a Team doesn’t have at least three Players, after the previous Game has ended, that Team must Forfeit the next Game. Players are not permitted to join Games that are in progress. Players are not permitted to add a Character to a Game for a Player who is absent.
  17. Rounds started without the approval of a Referee will be restarted.
  18. Quitting from a Round, before it has ended, without a Referee’s permission, will leave your Team shorthanded or result in a Forfeit if all 4 Players quit.
  19. Incorrectly ending a Round, without a Referee’s permission, will result in a Forfeit of the Round.
  20. Players must use their registered MLG Username during all Games. No Team Name abbreviations are allowed.

Championship Bracket

  1. The Championship Bracket is a Best of 5 Game Match, Double Elimination Bracket.
  2. Each Match will consist of 3 Total Conquest and 2 Attack & Defend Games.
  3. After losing a Match, Teams will fall into the Losers Bracket.
  4. A Match loss in the Losers Bracket will result in elimination from the Event.
  5. Teams eliminated by way of Losers Bracket Rounds 1-2 must play 1 Consolation Match to determine their exact 5th-8th Ranking. These Consolation Matches will be played on Saturday.
  6. Teams will be seeded using their Pro/Semi-Pro Status Ranking.
  7. The higher seeded Team must choose to act as the higher or lower Seed for the purpose of Host choice. The higher seeded Team must choose 1 Game to Host. Then, the lower seeded Team must choose 2 Games to Host. The higher seeded Team must Host the other 2 Games. Teams may request that they be allowed to give up their hosting privileges for 1 or more Games. The opposing Team can then accept or reject the opportunity to Host that Game(s).
  8. If Teams meet for a 2nd time in the Championship Bracket their Match will expand to a Best of 11, include the previous Match, and pick up where that Match left off. For example, if Team A beat Team B 3 Games to 0 in the Winners Bracket, the Best of 11 will resume with Game 4 and Team A leading 3 Games to 0. If Games 4 and/or 5 of the Winners Bracket Match were not played, they must be played first with Host for each Game going to the Team that would’ve hosted in the Winners Bracket. The Team that won the first Match must choose to Host or not Host the 11th Game, if necessary. Host for Games 6-10 will be chosen in the opposite manner in which Host was chosen in the Winners Bracket (See Championship Bracket Rule #7).
  9. If Teams in a Best of 11 Game Match are scheduled to play a Game Type they have already played against each other in the Championship Bracket, another Game Type will be chosen by the League Commissioner.
  10. If the Teams meeting in the Finals have not yet faced each other in the Championship Bracket and the Team coming from the Losers Bracket wins a Match, the Winners Bracket Finals Game Types must be played in order to break the tie since both Teams would only have one Match loss. Before the start of the Finals, the Team without a Match loss must choose to have higher Seed hosting privileges for the Finals or Winners Bracket Finals set of Game Types (See Championship Bracket Rule #7).
