![]() Hot off of their Game 11 win over Str8 Rippin in the Anaheim Finals, MLG had a chance to sit down and chat with Triggers Down. We recap the Anaheim win and discuss some stuff they have in store for fans, their preparation for Orlando, and much more. MLG: First off, congratulations on being the first team to win back to back Halo 3 events! How are you guys feeling coming off that win? Heinz: It's awesome to be the first team to win back to back. I wouldn't want to do this with any other people than these four guys. SK: I’m feeling good, but it will be short lived due to the fact we have to shift our focus to Orlando. Hysteria: It's such a relief to win back to back competitions. It always sucked being up and down every other tourney. Bravo: I'm feeling great. We know that we need to do it again at the National Championships, so we can't dwell on it, like SK said. We're excited to be getting ready for Orlando. Pistola: I’m feeling pretty great and I hope we can keep it up and win back to back to back. MLG: Why do you think it took almost two years for a team to accomplish this feat? Heinz: I'm not really sure. I think it just had to do with how teams prepared after they won. We were pretty prepared for Anaheim and didn't slack off just because we won Dallas. Bravo: I think it's the fact that teams have been rumored to not improve their game after a win. With this team, there was no slacking off, and we're always improving the way we approach gametypes. Hysteria: I think after winning the team never seemed to be as prepared for the next tourney. We made sure that didn't happen this time. SK: I think it’s important for a team to be confident with their lineup. It seems like Str8 and our team are the only two teams that really have that. It was just a matter of time before it was going to happen.
TD walked away from Anaheim as the first team in H3 history to win back-to-back competitions.
MLG: It's a pretty well known fact that Triggers Down has never really been a "fan favorite." However, in recent events there has been a notable increase in your fan base. Why do you think this influx has occurred? Pistola: Plasma Pistola? Bravo: To be honest, I think people have stepped beyond the stereotypes and given the team a chance. We're trying to do a lot for the fans right now and in the near future, and I think we're enjoying it just as much as they are. Heinz: I think the 'TD Haloween' video helped people see how we actually are. Plus, being consistent with our rosters and placings lets people know that we won't let them down. Hysteria: Before Anaheim we made a TD LAN video which I think helped a bit. I think we've finally gotten rid of the inconsistency and the "bad guy" title as well. |
