The 1st Lutz LAN
- August 16, 2009 - 7:06pm
It's been almost 2 years since I last blogged, and probably no more than 2 people read my last one. Oh well. On August 15th, the first ever Lutz LAN was held at my house in Lutz, and while only 8 people came, it was a blast all the same (seewhatididthere?)
At about 11 am on the big day, Joey (Pocketz) and Bishop (yes, that's his real name and his GT), came over to help set up and take care of everything.
Joey, in his normal fashion, took charge immediately.
Grandpa Joey at Publix
Regardless, we got everything rolling, even though Bishop had no TV or Xbox.
The first to arrive was Droid. Naturally, we gave him a warm reception :p
PS: In case you missed it, here it is again for those of you who can't see very well.
Next to arrive, was MonSTAR, better known on the forums as DADUKE (What?! That isn't even close to MonSTAR!) He proclaimed that Team Pocket Rockets was not going to drop a game during the LAN
You jinxed us Mack, dammit!
He had to be careful though, for there was a wild Droid lurking in the bush.
We played a lot of games, watched Iron Man, told horrible jokes, and all in all had a great time. Everyone is more than welcome to attend the next one, which is being planned as you are reading this blog.
And now, for some random pictures from the LAN
Team Droid
From Left to Right: P3rfection, Droid, Kinematics, Kinematics' friend who plays WoW but still has a 50 in MLG somehow (??)
Team Pocket Rockets
From Left to Right (or farthest to nearest): MonSTAR, Pocketz, Bishop
Pocketz: Bishop! You forgot your serious face! Dammit!
Droid playing H1 against Pocketz (and losing badly)
Kinematics' friend: Dude....wait...what?
At the LAN:
40+ games of H3 played
12 or so 2v2 games of H1 in which many combinations of players played against Pocketz and Bishop...and lost every time
1 Gutiar Hero: World Tour set (drums, guitars, mic) that wasn't touched and thus moved back into my brother's room
1 Annoying brother that would not lend Bishop his Xbox for an hour or two
At the next LAN
More people
More games played
H1, H3 and Guitar Hero
Will capture clips from everyone and make a highlight video of them.
Keep on playing everyone,
Frenetic

My MLG History...
- December 27, 2007 - 6:01am
Ok. Where to begin here....
The first Team Blindside
I'm pretty sure AO Piggystyle remembers this...this team was my very first, back when I was just introduced to MLG. It consisted of myself, OcR OUPimp, Piggystyle, and TwiztedKhaos. Sadly, Twizted got grounded before our online tournament, so we picked up the 4th Young Gun 911. Big mistake. I have nothing against him now, but we didn't mesh with Young Gun like we did with Twizted. We made it through the pool plays, but lost in the brackets to LOA Team Varsity.
With that, we broke up because OUPimp went on hiatus due to a close friend of his dying, and Young Gun leaving. I cruised around as a free agent for a bit. This leads me to the next chapter in this saga.
Blindside Reborn
I reformed Blindside because I felt we had a chance. The team upon its forming consisted of myself, Xizor (henceforth referred to as Dan), Purefection, and RepresentTX. Pure changed to a different team though because of teamwork issues, and so we picked up Piggystyle once more. It was about the time the tourney team changes period was going to end that Represent had a falling out with the rest of the team. He wasn't leaving the team, but he would after the tournament. It still amazes me to this day the absurdity of people cheating to win at a video game. Yet the team known as Hot as Fire decided to do just that. Because of a technicality of which I wasn't aware, they were allowed to use an incorrect gamertag, and the biggest thing of it all was that they dropped the ball through the map in Lockout Oddball. Yet my evidence wasn't accepted because of the angle that I saw it happen. Curse Dan's CC for being broken at that time. Because of this, we weren't able to make it out of the pool play. After this, Piggystyle took a break from Halo and Represent left as he had wanted to. I hold nothing against him. In their stead, me and Dan picked up 3 additional members, so we could always practice as a team; BilltownRunner, Tball, and Blitzkreig. We soon found that we had amazing chemistry, and we had fun playing together. At least, when the team was me, Dan, Billtown and Blitzkreig. Tball has lost any respect I used to have for him. He went from being a respectful and talented player to one who both plays just a little dumber than a brick wall and acts like a little kid on a sugar high. He would be so focused on whining about everything because he thought he was (and still thinks he is) the next (insert pro here) that our team play would suffer.
Trojan's trip to MLG Orlando:
About this time, MLG Orlando was around the corner. I had wanted to go to MLG Dallas, but my parents didn't want me to go because of the airfare and all the other costs. Orlando, however, was practically on my doorstep, so it was easier to convince them to go. I had a team but I was dropped without much if any forewarning. I normally don't point fingers, but thanks a lot golfingsquirrel. You could of at least told me. Teamless, I went anyways to participate in the Open FFA and to just enjoy my time there. It was my first event and I loved the sight of the venue, the pros there, and the LAN setting. It's a lot of fun to actually have your shots kill what your shooting at rather than on Xbox Live where sniper headshots bounce off the target's dome for no apparent reason other than it being amusing to the farting lesbian penquins of Ecuador. Moving on, I made 3rd Round FFA, which isn't bad for a first event, though I personally know that I had the chance to do much better. Thanks to Defy for teaching me a valuable lesson: Don't loose composure. After having fun at the event, I went home on the second day and watched Str8 tear into the competition on the VoD.
After that brief interlude....
After MLG Orlando, GodofDeathKB (henceforth referred to as Kevin), who was helping train Blindside Reborn at the time to help counteract Tball's severe case of "incredulous idiocy", he informed me about Cpt. Anarchy's clan for scrims v. the Vegas roster of Perfect Storm. I was eager to participate in this, as was Dan. But Tball, Billtown and Blitzkreig went to Halo 3 as soon as it came out and didn't come off. No matter how many times I asked them on AIM, and no matter how many times Dan asked them on Halo 3 (I didn't have an Xbox 360 at the time this was happening) they didn't seem to want to play with me and Dan anymore. So Blindside Reborn broke up, and Dan moved on to a new Halo 3 team, leaving me without a team and without a 360.
The Bezerkers
This team was one of the most fun ones I have ever been on. I was browsing around and saw that they were looking for a 4th. DaOneEnOnly (the captain) had been friends with Midknight7 (captain of Overdose, a team Blindside Reborn faced in their tournament) and because of that, I tried out for, and was accepted to The Bezerkers. The team consisted of DaOneEnOnly, his brother D3athsight, and Steath10101. Now I have nothing against these guys, but after the first week or so of running games with them, it didn't seem to be working. A good team has chemistry when they win consistently. Bezerkers with me on it either won by a huge margin, or lost by a huge margin. We weren't consistent. I steeled myself and worked extra hard to try to improve our chemistry but it was a futile effort, just recently, I informed DaOne about this fact and he took it well. Neither of us want to hold the other back. For anyone reading this, these guys ARE looking for a 4th. They deserve someone good. Send DaOneEnOnly a request if you want to tryout.
9 Lives and looking into the future...
Upon leaving the Bezerkers, Dan approached me with the offer of teaming again. 9 Lives (the tentative team name) consists of myself, Dan, Ballin, and Swick. I'm hoping to get us sponsored by Busch Gardens (seeing as my dad works for them) and going to MLG events. I love playing with all of the people on this team and hopefully we will go far. My GT is TheTrojanBunny for anyone looking for scrims.
Just some quick shoutouts before I shut up hahaha....
TwiztedKhaos: Long time no talk eh man? Hope your doing well Andrew
Piggystyle: Or should I say Sasori now? hahaha. Hope your new team goes far Tom
GodofDeathKB: Kevin, I wouldn't even be thanking you in this blog if not for you. Thanks for the training, and support throughout my time knowing you
Xizor: Dan, I always like teaming with you. Now lets show the world what we can do.
Gambler and ATM: Saw you guys in Orlando. You nubs need to send me a friend request haha. GT = TheTrojanBunny if you dudes forgot. Then again, how could you forget someone called TheTrojanBunny?
Overdose: Thanks for the great games in H2, looking forward to more with you guys over time
Bezerkers: I was a pleasure and honor teaming with you guys and I hope to scrim you guys with my new team
Thanks for reading this blog.
