MLG Columbus Predictions
- June 1, 2009 - 2:21am
I will say that these are just my predictions and they might be a little biased, but I have tried to think logically about how well the teams played in Meadowlands, how much they've practiced, and with new teams - how well I feel they will mesh. Granted, I admit that ultimately anything can happen...
1. Str8 Rippin - After a disappointing finish at the opener, Str8 have been getting down to business. A team of four veterans; they are going to want the win in Columbus badly. I had the chance to watch them play in Meadowlands and they clearly were off of their game. It seemed that they were losing more individual battles than they should, and their timing with each other and with grabbing the objective were off and not on the same page. Legit was easily the best player in Vegas last year, and I might even go as far to say he was the best player throughout the season. I think we are going to see a Vegas-Legit in Columbus, and that the rest of the team will be doing what they know how to do and on the same page, which is why Str8 Rippin is my number one.
2. Triggers Down - This is a team that I had the pleasure of watching a lot while in the Meadowlands and I must say I was greatly impressed. They were obviously well practiced, but on top of that, they were winning most of their individual battles as well. Pistola was the best player in Meadowlands, in my opinion. He was making all of the right decisions and was literally doing everything, and with confidence too. If he plays to the same level in Columbus I could even see them taking first.
3. Final Boss - Columbus is Ogrecity. They had a pretty solid LAN with Str8 Rippin barring a 10-1 first series. Although they've had a good LAN, I feel they could have practiced more as a team, but I am confident in their ability - so long as they stop throwing sticky grenades at each other!4. Instinct - Always a strong contender. I know Mason really has the drive to win, and if he can keep developing his abilities and keep his cool, I see great things for this team. However, After watching some gameplay in Meadowlands, I must say that I honestly cannot predict them any higher until Walshy steps up his game.
5. Carbon - They've lost Soviet, which I think will hurt them, but I think Defy is a solid pickup for any team. I think it will also help that he is a long time friend of everyone on the team, and that the team is now filled with four veterans. After a poor performance in Meadowlands, I see Ghost and Wav3 stepping up huge. I could easily place them higher than fifth, but it will have to be done through upsets - which I'm acknowledging could very well happen.
6. Believe the Hype - This team really surprised me in Meadowlands. However, I will have to see them do it again before I won't consider it a fluke. I've always been a Soviet fan. I think he is a player in a very small class who brings a lot to whatever team he is on. Hopefully he will continue his ownage on this new team.
7. Status Quo - It's hard for me to predict a team who practiced above and beyond the most before Meadowlands and still placed 7th... any higher than 7th. Everybody knows that Status Quo is going to be well practiced for Columbus too, and hopefully they are able to perform better at the actual tournament. Strongside and Ace have become a very deadly duo in my opinion. As soon as they get two more all stars on their team I'll start predicting them in the top 3.
8. Heaven and Earth - I was going to leave this spot open for a sleeper team, but I'll go ahead and give it to HaE. I feel that keeping the same lineup was ultimately the best decision they could make. They have a lot stronger chemistry than most the other teams fighting for this spot, and I think they have the drive too.
And there you have it folks! For the most part, I made these predictions assuming each team is playing at their best. Obviously, that isn't going to happen at the tournament, and it will come down to which teams want it most and play the best on game day. I hope it was a good read and be sure to leave feedback letting me know what you think about the predictions!
Thanks,
Dan
Darkfall Online.
- April 25, 2009 - 12:01am
I'm here to blog about a new MMORPG that has just come out that some of you might find interesting, as I have!
Darkfall is a fantasy MMORPG that has technically just recently been released. However, I would like to call it a paid-beta. There isn't infinite access to buying accounts yet as I don't believe their servers can handle it yet, so they have been releasing the game in stages, and it is only available for purchase online via download from a torrent. It is produced by a European company, so one of the downsides is the ONLY server they have at the moment is a European one, but from my little experience, that doesn't take too much away from the game.
Darkfall is supposed to be different from other MMORPG's in that it's meant to be a true sandbox game, basically meaning it is almost completely open-ended, and what the players do shapes the game/atmosphere. The game world is called Agon, and it is quite huge, and one key feature about it which has supposedly never been done before is that there are no instances. What that means is that you will never have a loading screen going in/out of a city or area of the map. From my experience thus far, I can say that there is very little guidance as to what you can/should be doing at any time, and the only things that are really linear at all are some of the quests, which are all really basic anyways (well, at least the ones I've done).
You can pick from one of six different races in Darkfall - Humans, Orks, Alfar, Dwarfs, Mahirim, or Mirdain. The Humans are well... Human. I believe they start off with pretty well-rounded stats, and they are allied with the Mirdain and the Dwarfs; and at war with the Orks, Mahirim, and Alfar.
The Orks are ... Orks! Haha, I'm not sure about their starting stats, but I believe they start with high strength/low magic. They are allied with the Mahirim and at war with everyone else.
The Alfar are evil little goblin-like dudes who I believe start with higher magic/low melee (strength). They are at war with EVERYBODY!
The Dwarfs are super buff and cool looking! They start with high vitality (health) and probably low magic/archery (dexterity). They are allied with Human and Mirdain, and at war with the rest.
The Mahirim are like wolf-people! They are pretty cool looking and they are huge! I think they start with pretty average stats except they are faster or something. They are allied with the Orks and at war with everyone else.
The Mirdain are elves! (Also the race that I chose). They start off with low strength (melee) and vitality (health), but a high dexterity (archery). They are allied with Humans and Dwarfs and at war with the rest!
Now, just because you are allied with only some of the races doesn't mean that you cannot be friendly with the others. The Clan and Clan Alliance systems make it so you can form a clan which includes all races, or just one. And that leads me to the coolest part about the game... you can kill WHOEVER YOU WANT, WHENEVER YOU WANT! Oh, and it is a 100% Full-Loot game. That means... if you get killed you drop everything on you! It really makes for some exciting PvP.
The PvP is both 3rd person (melee) and 1st person (archery and magic). That means that, yes, the game has some first-person-shooter characteristics, and it takes skill to lead your shots (arrows and magic missiles). Being a sandbox and full-loot game, it is safe to say that it has been developed around the PvP aspect.
Now, I will say that in my opinion, the game is basically still in beta, even though it has technically been released. I say this due to the fact that it isn't a FULL release, so it's not readily available to the public (very beta-esk) and that it still contains many bugs and things that need fixed (and are being fixed/patched literally daily). BUT, as long as you keep that mindset - that it will only be getting better, it is safe to say that this game has huge potential and I have thoroughly enjoyed it so far, even in its current state of development.
I'm not sure how the release schedule works, but you can make an account here ->
https://www.darkfallonline.com/accounts/f/default.php?pname=Homepage
and it will either be available or “Temporarily Sold Out.”
If you think this sounds interesting and worth the money (it is a little pricey, especially since it’s basically still in beta or what I like to call pay-to-play-beta) and you decide to get the game, make sure to leave me a comment on either this blog or my MySpace or Facebook so I can look you up. Heck, maybe we can form and MLG clan and take over! Muhahaha.
Also, if any of you already HAVE the game… the same thing applies. Make sure that you leave me a message with your character name, what race you are, and where you are located in the world of Agon!

10/9/08 All That Remains
- October 10, 2008 - 2:26pm
It'd been awhile since I had last been to a show. When Tom found out from Phil from All That Remains that they were going to be back in Columbus at the Newport Music Hall, I definitely planned to remedy this. Last time we saw them live they were nothing but amazing and I knew this time would be even better with their new album Overcome having just come out.
I got even more excited about the evening when I found out that the band 36 Crazyfists were also going to be playing. For those of you who don't now who they are, they were in my part of the OGRES' first halo2 montage (if you can remember that) with their song Ceremic. The band has come a long way since then producing several more albums, but the point is that we have been fans of them for some time and had never seen them live. I was quite surprised to find out that the band Trivium was the headliner for the tour they are on (not really a fan), but that wasn't a big deal since we didn't plan on sticking around to hear them play anyways.
We met up with two of our friends on campus (Ohio State) and walked about a mile in the cold to get to the concert hall. Speaking of cold, where the hell did it come from!? It's like all of a sudden uncomfortable to walk around outside in Ohio without a jacket or hoodie. Anyways, I digress... When we finally arrived, we were able to catch the end of the opening band The Human Abstract. Now, I had never heard of them before, but I must say that they were very impressive live with a ton of energy. They will definitely be a band that I follow from now on. Next up was 36 Crazyfists, who I thought were alright live, but I guess I sort of had higher expectations. It was still enjoyable seeing them play, however. When All That Remains came on it seemed as if Phil's mic wasn't on or something because you couldn't hear like the first 10 or so words that he said, then it came in really loud. Besides the minor technical difficulties, Tom and I both agreed that they were even better this time than last. They're guitarist is INSANE!
All in all it was a good time and thanks to Phil for hooking us up, and definitely thanks for the shoutout! :D

FB Team Change
- August 6, 2008 - 9:49am
First of all, I would like everyone to know that there are VERY few people who know exactly what has been happening with things, and to whoever it may apply: Please stop pretending to know what you're talking about and saying stuff as if it were factual when in reality you heard it from your sister's friend's little brother who fabricated the idea out of thin air.
I know a lot of our fans seem to think that our decision to replace Walshy was some sort of spontaneous, irrational decision based on how he played as an individual in Orlando. Some of our more intelligent, long-time fans must realize, however, that that is not how our team goes about things. This is our team's second change in about 3 and a half years. Besides having to adjust to a new game, the team has had internal chemistry issues going on for over a year, not to mention motivation issues or any other personal issues outside of the game. As you can imagine, it becomes very difficult to get serious, productive practice with all of these things going on, and it finally caught up to us as shown in our recent tournament placings. After sticking it out for a long time, it was finally decided that there needed to be a change.
In my opinion, the change will be for the best for everyone involved. I believe Dave has found a very strong new team and with our acquisition of Mason I am really excited to see how amazing we will be. I can easily see both our teams in the top 4 for the rest of the season.
Thank you for reading and understanding! Can't wait to see everyone in Toronto!

Ogre 1 - Halo - Ninjas and Samurais and
Meadowlands and Stuff
- May 2, 2008 - 11:08pm
So Meadowlands. That was a whirlwind tournament, I don't think I've ever played as much Halo at a tournament as I did at Meadowlands - it was both exhausting and exhilarating. Falling into Loser's Bracket so early on was a bummer, but I think it gave us a wakeup call and allowed us to step up our game for the rest of the tournament.
Thanks to Redbull for opening up "The Bosses Office" for the weekend - that also was a huge help, and I must say, Redbull guys are some of the coolest people on earth. For those of you who aren't in the know, The Bosses Office was a suite Redbull got for us which hosted 8 tvs, chairs, and an endless supply of candy, snacks and most importantly, Redbull. Speaking of cool people, we missed having our main man Gilbert Arenas around at the tournament but as he was busy, he sent one miss Paisley in his place, who is also, on the scale of things, pretty damn cool.
All around it was an amazing weekend, the cherry on top of it all was of course, winning the tournament, and indeed, I'll admit it felt good to show all the haters that we still have what it takes. Yeah, we read the forums, and remember who says what. Haha.
After Meadowlands Chantal and I went to stay in Times Square in New York for a couple of days, where we spent copious amounts of money and had an all around good time, still buzzing from the thrill of the tournament weekend.
Cut to a couple of weeks later - Kings Island! Me, Chantal, Tom and Amy drove down to Strongside's house to hang out with him and ElamiteWarrior. The main attraction was that we were going to go to King's Island, an amusement park, and indeed we did. I've got a couple of messages from some of you mentioning you were there and saw Strongside's amazing 3-point tosses - lucky you! For those who missed it, to sum up, Strongside basically dominated the entire amusement park, but especially the 3 point shootout basketball challenge, where he proceeded to make his first shot, goof off his second, and then for his last, threw the ball entirely over the board (and probably hit some unfortunate passerby in the head). Funny stuff and good times!
And well, that brings me to a close. See you all Lataaaaaaa
Re-Arenas'd!
- March 14, 2008 - 6:47pm
The title says it all! Well, if you can make sense of it.
Let me say it properly... Gilbert Arenas, aka Agent Zero aka The Man, has decided to extend/renew his sponsorship of your favorite team, Final Boss!
Gilbert has basically been a savior in this crazy world of gaming. To me, competing at tournaments has always been a heck of a lot of fun. However, so much more was added to the experience when I knew I wasn't only representing myself, but that I was a part of a team: Team Final Boss. Now it has grown into me not only being able to represent myself and my team, but every time I play I am also representing Mr. Arenas. It is something that I take a lot of pride in.
Near the end of the 2006 season, my teammates and I had the superb priviledge of meeting, hanging out, and even playing some halo with Gilbert. Since then, he has been the most amazing sponsor our team could have asked for, supplying us with tons of stuff including, but not limited to: Shoes, Custom Shoes, Custom Jackets, PS3's, and some Patron for Tom and My 21st (of course!). I mean, the guy even stands behind us while we play at tournaments and asks if we need a new bottle of water or anything (and if we answer yes, then he proceeds to go get some for us!). It really is crazy how down to earth and awesome he is. He is a hard worker and gets what he wants. He sets a perfect example for anyone, and I see him as one of few great role models in today's society.
So to conclude this blog I would just like to give my sincere thanks to Gilbert Arenas aka Agent Zero aka The Man. You have been awesome, and I couldn't ask for more!
Next I would like to thank my girlfriend, Chantal, for being amazing acourse. <3
Lastly, I would like to thank all of our fans! You guys seriously keep us motivated, so thank you.

Wow - My MLG Orlando/Halo3 Blog
- September 20, 2007 - 6:31am
Orlando! Wow it's so close... I'm leaving tomorrow in the early afternoon. Our team is in high spirits and we feel as practiced as ever. We just recently had a LAN with team Versus (I believe they got 7th in Chicago), and the scores were more than convincing. It really feels like we don't have any bad gametypes, and that everyone is on the same page.
One of the things I am excited the most about Orlando would be our new coach, THE ONE a.k.a. Tupac. Yes, we dragged him out of retirement just to basically be the best coach ever. Our main reason for picking him as a coach is that he is pretty much the funniest kid alive. Our team, as I'm sure it's the same with many other teams, only plays our absolute best when we are all having a blast, and laughing the whole time. I can't really see us NOT having a blast with Pac following us around all the time.
Halo3, hmm, well I wrote a lot about this in my blog that was murdered upon submitting it to the site, but let me just briefly go over a few things now. I first of all, I thought the beta was a pretty awesome game in itself. The only couple things I didn't like about it were A) The 360 controller (has nothing to do with the game, but hey, I'm a duke user) and B) The frame rate on the 360 seems to not be up to par (again this is for other games as well... ever played halo2 on a 360?? YuK!). So I think the fact that the only 2 things I didn't like about Halo3 didn't actually have to do with Halo3, makes it seem like it is a very promising game and I'm more than excited to play something new again.
Thanks everybody for reading this, and come root us on in Orlando! Go FB!

p.s. I love you Chantal! Sorry you can't be there with me :(

Stuff you might find interesting!
- May 30, 2007 - 10:55pm
Firstly, and most importantly, Chantal is going to be here in a week (yes, she's going to meadowlands!) and she is going to be staying for a very long time :D :D :D :D :D
Our team just recently got home from a 3-4 day LAN with FBI The Agency. I would like to give thanks to mackeo/his dad for letting us stay again. It's always awesome there and they are really nice people. The actual LAN itself was as good as ever. Once again, I feel that both teams were able to tweak their gameplay in such a way that it will be noticable how much each team improved come meadowlands. Thanks for the GG's guys.
Oh wait, I forgot to mention how mackeo actually managed to beat Elamites record on beavercreek ts! For those of you that don't already know, the first time we went to LAN at mackeo's house with The Agency, there was a specific BC TS game where Elamite ended with 0 kills. Yes, ZERO KILLS! Anyways, we all figured that was a world record that would never ever be beaten (Kinda like the Str8 1:48 middy bomb game). However, Mackeo managed to blow us all away with his -1 BC TS score. Your eyes are not deceiving you, Mackeo ended the game with -1 kills. I'm not positive how exactly it happened, but the way Halogod described it to me is that at the very start of the game, they spawned Needler side Blue Base and at OS. Mackeo stuck his overshielded teammate accidentally, which I think turned into a double betrayal because the teammate with the sniper had fallen next to him. Needless to say, it was VERY embarrassing on Mackeo's part, and he will probably deny it and make excuses about it for the rest of his life.
After the LAN with FBI, we had arranged to go to The Classic Crime's show at the Newport Music Hall in Columbus, OH. We had become good friends with their bass player Allan, who loves halo2 (and is actually pretty good!). Allan hooked us up with some tickets to the show, and we hooked the band up with a place to shower, sleep, and play halo all night! I had an amazing time at the show and hanging out with the band afterwards. All of the guys are extremely cool and I can't wait til they are back in Ohio again. Check out their music at www.myspace.com/theclassiccrime
You would think with all of this crazy stuff going on, that our team would maybe take it easy until the tournament. Wrong! We have organized (or rather, Dave has organized :P) for team 5k (better known as Mini Boss) to come LAN for a couple of days starting this weekend. Our team consider's 5k one of the best teams to scrim/practice against online, and after having the chance to meet them all (cool guys, except hokum is kinda weird/nerdy/bad at poker) and see them perform on LAN, we decided that having them over for a couple of days would do nothing but further benefit our gameplay.
Final Boss is looking as strong as ever and I am personally extremely excited for Meadowlands! P.S. If you see me, or anyone on my team at the event, don't be afraid to say hi! haha, we're all just normal guys and love to meet new people.
Have a nice day and see you all in NJ! - Dan a.k.a. OGRE 1
Sorry Ladies
- May 7, 2007 - 11:00pm
just mention you love me and no other girl is ever allowed to have you/associate with you/touch you/talk to you/go within a 100 foot radius of you Chan! ^__^ says: then i'll be happy :]
Sorry Ladies... this just in - No other girl is ever allowed to have me/associate with me/touch me/talk to me/go within a 100 foot radius of me.
Guys... I dunno, maybe ask her about the rules about guys. (buffaloDave)
Strongside the fisherman
- May 7, 2007 - 10:57pm
We made a quick trip to Walmart and purchased a cheap $11 fishing rod which worked surprisingly well for how cheap it was. After feeding the enormous geese/swans/whatever birds at the pond, it was time for Mike hooked up a ball of bread to the hook and was ready to catch his first fish!
Well... he did just that and caught a 3 or 4" long bluegill fish. So everyone make sure you congratulate Michael Cavanaugh on his first HUGE catch!
P.S. Mike fed the ducks beef jerky and they were eating it!?! O.o
Lots and Lots of Halo2!
- April 5, 2007 - 7:53am
For the past 2 months, our team has been practicing nearly every single day... something we haven't done since the beginning of 2005. Strongside adds so much warmth and dedication to the team that it fuels the rest of us to play more and perform better as well. Have we perfected everything? No, I think we're far from it... but I believe our team has so much more potential now than it ever has, and our recent performance has been stellar.
Exactly 1 week ago from today, FBI The Agency came to the OGRE HOUSE for some intense LAN practice. This team is definitely on the rise, and they improve noticably every single time we play them. I feel that they are a strong contender for top 3 at some point this season, and can't really see them placing any lower than 6th.
The Agency packed up and headed out around Sunday evening, but that was okay since FBI Icon was already on their way. Tupac and Slim showed up monday afternoon; with Shook On3 and Pyrocy arriving the day after. They will be staying for the next couple of days where we plan on perfecting/becoming extremely solid on each and every gametype. We will then resort to a week of online practice to tweak any remaining strategies.
I hope everyone has a safe trip to Charlotte and I can't wait to see you all there!

Valentines Day 2007!
- February 16, 2007 - 10:42am
Anybody can go to the corner store last minute and pickup some flowers and a box of chocolates for the one they love. However, I think stuff like that is too simple and thoughtless when it comes to what is supposed
to be a day of romance and professed love.
This being the case, Chantal and I decided we'd do something memorable for Valentine's Day.
First, we booked a suite at a 5 star hotel located right on the beach. Then, we reserved a spot at one of the finest and most romantic restaurants in Adelaide.
We started off our day kinda slowly - Oversleeping as usual, but it wasn't that big of a deal :P We packed up and headed towards our destination, The Stamford Grande hotel. Once there, we checked in and started
getting dressed up for our night out.

View from our Hotel Room
"Esca Restaurant blends contemporary European style with traditional Italian flavours," is how this truly incredible restaurant describes its food. The restaurant is located on the marina (where it apparently costs a cool $1mil just to park your boat) and the entirety of the back wall is made of glass which overlooks the beach... and during dinner, overlooks the beautiful Australian sunset!

I'll leave the price of our meal unmentioned, but let me boast about the amazing food.
As an entree (appetizer), Chantal and I both chose crab meat in avocado, dressed in lemon with cabbage. I'm not typically a seafood lover, but this stuff was so scrumdiddilyumptious! We both decided to get the same main course meal - Char grilled beef fillet fettini with roasted Portobello mushrooms, tomatoes, shallots and rice and potato crocchette. Sounds good right? Well it tasted at least a bagillion times better than the
description. If that wasn't enough, we got ourselves a bottle of Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc to embellish our meal. We were informed by our wine waiter that we had chosen a blend of two different exotic white wines and let me tell you the wine truly was amazing. To finish it all off, for dessert I had the Traditional tira mi sui with almond and fig bread, which was soft and so divine. Chantal opted for the Orange jaffa chocolate tart with sweetened cream and latte ice cream... which of course I had to try and was freakin incredible as well (I imagine it's the same kind of taste you would experience if you were to put Heaven in your mouth).
Phew... okay this is where you can take a break from reading and go get something to eat... because I know you want to.
Okay, now that we've all gotten something to munch on, let me finish this story. Leaving the restaurant and walking along the Marina, we stopped to look at the sunset and admire all of the expensive boats ^_^ While gazing at Ms Lau, my decided favorite of the boats, I was suddenly startled by this "BLARGGHHHH!" sound... well kinda like that... that came from the water only about 10 feet below us. I quickly turned, fully prepared to BXR the Loch Ness Monster... but to my dismay (and utter delight) it was merely a seal, who I later named Flipper(how original right?). I thought it was so cool, since this was my first encounter with a wild seal - and because I had been informed earlier that it was very rare to see any seals in that area. Unfortunately, by the time I got my camera out, he had submerged back into the depths of the marina, not to reappear anywhere we could see :(

I did get a picture of the awesome marina though.
When we got back to our hotel, we kinda felt bloated and just wanted to relax, so after eating a large meal, on Valentine's Day, we thought it would make sense to lay down and watch people get cut up and bloody in
Saw III. I had already seen it... but Chantal is a noob and made me watch it again with her. After that we went to look out of the 180 degree bay window of our suite. It was quite the fantastic view, but something more interesting caught my eye. I noticed that we could see, down below us, through the top of the pool area of the hotel a couple in the hot tub. They were drinking and having a good time, and Chantal and I kinda looked at each other and were like "That would be really funny if they started having sex." It was around midnight by this time, so it was kinda dark, but there was still some dim lighting around the area which allowed us to see what they were doing. We decided we were going to go for a walk along the beach, but before we left I had to check out the window one last time (you would have done the same thing stfu). Of course, not to my surprise, the guy's swimsuit was floating in the middle of the hot tub - and lets just say "Some Things" started happening after that. I wanted to get my camera and record it, but Chantal actually has morals so that idea was shot down. Blame her.
We put on our jackets and started down on the beach. It was really nice outside still and there were a bunch of couples walking around (go figure). At about 2am and after walking out on the pier and waiting around for Flipper to come back (then realizing he probably never would), Chantal blurts out "I want Icecream!!!" I quickly lied and said "There's nowhere we can get icecream at this time of night, lets go back to the hotel." It didn't work. We walked along all of the closed shops for about 15 minutes until we finally saw a place that was open and wasn't a bar or club... Yanni's Yiros. This shop didn't seem like it would be the kind of place that would have icecream... but we soon found out - to Chantal's delight - that Yanni had a freezer full of icecream goodies.

Early Morning View from the Hotel
Yanni seemed like a weirdo from the moment we walked in, but we weren't officially creeped out until RIGHT after I opened the freezer to grab some goodies(ie. my hand was reaching inside the freezer, still on it's way TOWARDS the icecream. I had not yet grabbed the object that I wished to purchase but was merely on my way to it) Yanni yelled "HUDDY UP CLOZSHE DA FREEZSHE!" Yeah... so I briefly contemplated closing the freezer and telling him to "Shove It Clean" (Thanks Edub for that one) and leaving his shop icecreamless, but I resisted, grabbed the icecream, paid the man, and we were on our way - really fast... without looking back...
We went back to our big comfy hotel suite and were finally able to get to sleep now that our desire for icecream had been satisfied.
I wish it was Valentine's Day everyday <3

From Australia, With Love
- January 21, 2007 - 12:08pm

For the past week or so I've been livin the dream in sunny Australia with my beautiful girlfriend. When I got here I noticed quite a change in temperature from my last visit. It's been about 100 degrees (give or take) this past week.

So what do you do when you're in Australia and it has perfect hot weather? You go to the beach! So Chantal and I decided we'd take our white asses out of the house and get ourselves some tans.

We walked around the beach, checked out a couple of stores and stuff around there and in general just had a good time. Australia is amazing ^_^
Oh, and the sunsets here are incredible.

Winter WonderLAN!
- December 24, 2006 - 10:25am
Don't be alarmed, we still recorded quite a bit of sick footage which will be shown in the Ogres' 2006 WinterWonderLAN'd Montage.
As well as Halo1 gameplay and montage footage, we also did something a little different this year. Walshy decided to bring his Digital Camcorder and record quite a bit of shaky cam footage. Some of this stuff is very funny and definitely worth watching. We're pretty sure that it will be put up on our website as soon as it launches (soon). Footage includes but is not limited to things such as "A Shocking Challenge" and "The Instant Message Contest."
That's about it for now guys!

Blogs, Gamertags, and WinterWonderLANd

First, I'd like to mention that anybody who is lame enough to hack/steal xbox live accounts deserves to be beaten with a spatula. That being said, I have recently been able to recover my FB OGRE 1 gamertag through rigorous efforts and long, frustrating phonecalls with Xbox Live Support. However, as it stands right now, I think the hacker may still have access to the account, but that problem should be fixed shortly.
My only other gamertag that I currently use is ESEA OGRE 1.
Aside from the super fun talks with the brilliant xbox live support team, we have been LANing quite a bit of halo1 in preperation for the WinterWonderLAN... However, we have recently run into a problem of undescribably gigantic proportions... Pac is back in jail just a few days before the highly anticipated LANage. With this dilema, and other problems with people not being able to come, we may be forced to put the LAN on hold - or simply have a less impressive showing than we all wanted.
That's about it for now. Oh, and Gilbert Arenas is a beast? 30+ points in like his last 4 games? Yikes!
Vegas and stuff :P

Anyways, yeah, I fly out tomorrow morning and I can't wait to see everyone there. It's going to be a blast.
On a side note - and this goes out to all of you Final Boss/Gilbert Arenas fans out there - the NBA All-Star Ballots are out, and it'd be awesome for everyone to go vote for your favorite Halo-Playing-Basketball-Player!
You can vote here -> http://www.nba.com/webAction?actionId=surveyInitialize&target=/allstar2007/asb/eng/sweeps.jsp&surveyId=1251
and since you can vote once every day, be sure to do it as often as possible.
I'll put it this way... *Imagine*... for each time you vote, Final Boss' chance of 6-0'ing the finals in Vegas goes up by a fraction of a percent. How bad do you want your favorite team to dominate? Show your support through voting here.
I promise that if we 6-0 the finals in Vegas I'll find a way to make it up to the fans ;)
That is all - GO!
