The Guess Who Championships - Strongside
vs. OGRE2
- February 27, 2007 - 10:31pm

Rules:
First to five pegs is the victor.
Summary:
- Game one went to Strongside, as he came out with some extremely lucky guesses and got up by a lot. OGRE 2 came back with some nice solid guesses, but fell short at the end with a missed character guess.
- Game two went to OGRE 2 as he dominated the whole game and Strongside was forced to guess with 6 pictures left up. Missing the guess, Strongside lost the round.
- Game three and four both went to Strongside as he was losing both games early on, but made clutch guesses at the end of both of them for the character, putting him up 3 games to one.
- Game five was won in a very close battle by OGRE 2, keeping his hopes alive.
- The first video shows the DISGUSTINGLY clutch finish by OGRE 2 in game six, tying the series up 3-3. Spectator ManTrain could not believe the finish, and laughed in an extremely feminine way (not surprising).
- Strongside took game seven, but lost the last two games because he chokes (not in halo tho).
OGRE 2 wins the Guess Who Championships

Best Overall Player
- January 24, 2007 - 11:10pm
Karma could have easily won this award - I respect his game so much its ridiculous. The amount of patience that he has in his 1v1's and FFA's. His ability to not get frustrated and to stay focused. His great team play that has improved so much over the past year.
Shockwave was just as likely of a candidate. His 4v4 play is incredible and he helps his team out so much (im not sure if they even realize how much he does). He had 0 FFA points this season, but thats not because hes bad at them. It's because he didnt play in the FFA all season long. If you look back to last season, Shockwave was one of the most dominant FFA players so we all know hes got the ability.
Gandhi's 4v4 play has improved drastically over the past year as well. I used to consider him the worst player on Team Phreaks and IGS (pre-carbon days). He has molded his 4v4 play to help out his team so that he does not stick out on the bottom end of the team at all, and sometimes sticks out at the top end. His FFA performances this season werent too bad at all, and then he stopped playing in the FFA's also. Plus we all know he gives Ben good games when he plays him 1v1 (Karma practice noob ;) )
Ghost has been a solid 4v4 and FFA player this entire season. He is ranked 14th overall in the FFA/1v1 going into next season and has undoubtedly been a great 4v4 player both on Carbon and before carbon (eX days).
Stongside - the number 2 FFA and 1v1 player. He has proven his talent in the FFA/1v1, and is also an incredible 4v4 player. He was on carbon for the first half of the season, and after things didn't work out he went to LegendZ. He was able to help out the LegendZ linup greatly, and they finished 6th in Orlando, then 5th in the New York Playoffs, and then 4th in the Vegas National Championship. He was no doubt a huge part to their success. Arguably better at FFA/1v1 than I; arguably worse at 4v4's than I - should be equal on the votes for best overall player wouldn't you say? :-P
I'm not too sure how I won this award over Walshy either. Next to my brother he has been the best teammate I have ever had, and he excels in both the 4v4 and FFA/1v1 as well. He is just as big a part of our team as I am, and his FFA/1v1 performances are almost exactly equal (im only beating him by a few points on the charts, but he placed higher more recently i.e. Vegas 1v1s). He is extremely clutch and is also an extremely versitile and smart player. He comes up with things that I never would have thought of, and im thankful that im able to learn off of him to improve my own game.
My brother.... we are identical twins - that should say enough. I feel that he was equally deserving of this award as I was. I do have a slightly more impressive resume in the FFA/1v1 department lately, but honestly if I played him 1v1 ten times, I would only win half. He is a huge part of our teams 4v4 success, and is/has been an incredible FFA and 1v1 player consistently throughout the past 2 years.
Fonzi would have been a great pick for best overall player as well. I have always seen him as the best player on Str8 Rippin. He is an incredibly smart person and player, who also happens to have a very consistent shot. His free for all performances throughout the year have been awesome, and he definitely deserved his 4v4 placings as he was a huge part of that Str8 Rippin team.
All in all, I am still in shock that I won this award again. To be recognized as the Best Overall Halo 2 player for another year is something that I can rub in dan and walsh's face for another whole year (ha ha). But seriously, thanks to everybody that voted for me and good luck to all in next season. By the way, the links to the awards for both the 2006 and 2005 season are below if you haven't seen them yet:

A late Christmas gift from Gilbert. :)
- January 18, 2007 - 3:49am

Ok, so if you haven't figured this out yet, Gilbert Arenas has become my new hero. It's not just because he sponsors our team, nor is it because hes an NBA player and DOMINATES (over 50 points again the other night?!?!). It's because hes such a generous, kind, and down to earth person when you get to know him. With all of that stardom and all of that money, he still manages to act like a normal person and he continues to surprise me.....
With all of that said, i would like to share with you what Gil decided to get each player on our team for Christmas. We were told that he was going to send us each a new Playstation 3. Well....the packages finally arrived in the mail today, and i guess he changed his mind a little bit. I guess he decided that instead of just one Playstation 3, that it would be better if we each received TWO Playstation 3's!!! I just opened mine up and took a few pictures with them, and i put one back into the box as i have no clue what im going to do with it yet haha. Walsh got his a little bit earlier today, and he told me he went out and bought a 40 inch LCD 1080pi flat panal tv to play his PS3 on. I don't know if ill be getting something like that soon, but my dad bought himself a 46 inch one of those for xmas, so i might just play on his tv for a while ;) . Anyways, here is me with my PS3's.
And here is the gear by itself.
And yes, we did get Gilbert presents for Christmas, but we just sent them out so he does not have them yet. I just hope he enjoys the stuff we got him as much as I'll enjoy these :) .
Gilbert Arenas' 25th Birthday Party
- January 8, 2007 - 5:56am

As you all know, our team Final Boss is sponsored by NBA All-Star Gilbert Arenas. We just recently got back from the exclusive party that he had for his 25th birthday, in which he spent well over a million dollars to throw. Let me just say that i am very thankful to have been a part of such a thing because this was truelly a once in a lifetime experience. Gil went all out on this one and it was simply great. I was lucky to get to talk to him for a quick minute during the party, because the press was all over him the entire event. However, i did catch his eye as he was being escorted by, and he came over and shook my hand, allowing me to wish him a happy birthday :).
Gilbert flew out over 5,000 people for the event, and rented out an entire club - as well as purchasing a 100,000 dollar tent, which is what the stage was under for the show/concert/performances. For more details on the actual party, if you didnt know, the website made specifically for the party is right here - http://www.arenasexpress.com
Attendees from the MLG community included Sepso, Clap, Mimi Kim, Walshy, OGRE 1, Strongside, myself, Nikki (walsh's B**** ;), <3 jk nikki), and my Amy :). We all had a blast, even those of us who were under 21 and couldnt drink. Even tho we were going to get into the VIP area of the tent to watch the performances through Gil's brother, Claps drunken self was able to get us in a little bit faster by simply annoying the crap out of the security guard hahaaaa. Anyways, we got to watch performances from Lil Wayne, Busta Rhymes, The Game, and T.I. from less than 10 feet away. I'm not even a huge rap/hip-hop fan, but it was still a sweet experience. Oh, and of course Gilberts entrance to the party on the stage, where P Diddy brought him out on the stage - Gilbert dressed like the pimp he is.
All who attended had a great time, it literally was impossible to not have a great time. The party had everything. From ice statues of gilbert in his jersey/wearing his Gil Zero shoes, to half naked chicks.....to fully naked chicks (almost haha, you'll see - strongside got a pic with some of them - GO MIKE). Below is a link to all of the pictures from the night of crazyness that were taken by Amy. Thanks to Mike and Amy for taking most of the pictures, and thanks to Amy for resizing/fixing up the pictures so we dont all look like vampires with red eyes. :) <3 enjoy.

New Linup for 2007 MLG Season
- December 8, 2006 - 10:57pm
this decision was so hard to make, and it was even harder telling one of my best friends that he wouldnt be playing with us next season. i dont want to go into details on why we made the switch, but i will say this. ryan was one of the most naturally talented players in the league and had such a high potential. its just that we felt over the course of this past season and even parts of the 05 season, that he wasnt putting in his full effort. he is a great guy and one hell of a player, and i hope to maintain a good relationship with him.
as for Mike, StrongSide, i am happy to say that he is now a part of Final Boss. We feel that mike will help bring back some of those 3D's to our team (desire, discipline, and dedication). he is already an amazing player, with an incredible drive to play and get better. dave, dan, and i all feel that he had the highest potential with our team out of all of the other options, so we picked him up. his personality is great and he fits in with us three off the "field" haha. we have plenty of time until next season starts and we will be practicing very hard to make things work out with him. i personally believe that next season is the season of the siiiiiiiide. <3

Gilbert Arenas - Agent Zero - THE MAN
- November 6, 2006 - 7:25pm
Shortly after our meeting with Gilbert, he got in contact with MLG, who acts as our teams Agents/Managers, as we are signed to them through an entirely different contract (the 1 million dollar team contract). Gilbert and MLG talked things over and he decided to sponsor our team, hooking us up with tons of Adidas clothing (you may have seen some of it in NY - custom warmups and shoes) and even better, an occasional paycheck. :) MLG and Gilberts agent worked out the terms and we signed the contracts.
About the man himself.....ive only known him for a short period of time, and i already have so many amazing stories to tell. The man is 24 years old, but he is only a child haha. He loves basketball and he loves gaming, and hanging out with him doesnt really even feel that weird because he is such a down to earth and normal person. At MLG Orlando, we went out to eat at Dennys late on saturday night and had a great time - then gilbert tipped the waitress 100 dollars.....not just 100 dollars, but a 100 dollar bill of course. She came outside after him and basically gave him a hug, repeatedly saying "thank you thank you thank you thank you". Its just amazing to me how he is so considerate and kind to everybody. That same night, we went to a Fridays restaurant that had an arcade in the back, gilbert loaded up over 100 dollars on a few game cards, and we gamed in there for over 2 hours. Amazing.
More recently - dave, dan, and i went to the Washington Wizards season opener in Cleveland, vs the Cavs. Gilbert hooked us up with tickets and vip passes so that we could stay in the stadium afterwards to hang out for a short while/talk with him.....Gilbert struggled that game haha, getting into early foul trouble and not hitting his shots. He ended the game with only 7 points - had quite a few assists and steals - but overall, had a pretty bad game. Talking to him after the game he was so extremely frustrated with himself, and he talked about how he always starts the season off slow. I believe he said that last season, his first game he only had 10 poitns. Anyways, he said in a jokingly (or it seemed) tone, "ha, just wait till next game ill get like 40 or 50"....hearing about (didnt get a chance to watch it) last saturdays game, he had 44 points and was destroying haha.
All in all, Gilbert is an awesome guy and i speak for our whole team in saying that having him as an official sponsor is far above and beyond what any of us would have dreamed of in a sponsor. Not only the stuff that he physically gives us (the clothing and money), but he has mentioned us in many interviews and blogs of his own, which only further promotes our team name and MLG as a whole. It is incredible to me to be a part of this league and this team - 3 years ago i would have never imagined making it all the way to the point i am at right now in my life. <3
P.S. a little note on our team - we are working very hard for vegas - perhaps harder than we have Ever worked before for a tournament. It really REALLY feels like we are pulling things back together. For a while there we were in a slump (not just orlando and ny) where it felt like we were just going through the motions and werent being creative with our gameplay anymore. Well, in vegas, expect to see a final boss team that you havent seen in a very long time....the one that will be doing all sorts of things youve never seen before. I cannot wait! see you all there hopefully. :)
As you may know....

Red Bull and Gilbert Arenas
- July 29, 2006 - 11:25pm
the next day we went to the santa monica beach in the morning and went shopping for a few hours in the afternoon. in the evening we went back to the red bull office to play some halo2.....with gilbert arenas. i guess red bull was trying to do something for gilbert, but they didnt have many good ideas. they could have given him more money...which he doesnt really need. they could have given him an xbox360!...which he has 13 of. anyways, ryan told us that he came up with this amazing idea of flying us out there to play halo with him, to teach him some stuff. apparently mr. arenas is really into halo2 and wants to get better. so ya we pretty much spent all night teaching him some stuff and playing games with him. just like other celebrities i have met, he was a really down to earth guy and just fun to hang out with. the trip was amazing. dan and i spent a full day traveling back home b/c we went through the chicago airport.....but it was still worth it and we all (FB) had a great time.
all in all, red bull is my new favorite company. gilbert arenas...good at basketball...bad at halo haha (a nice guy tho), and walsh is bad at rock-paper-scissors, along with everything else hes bad at.
P.S. why hasnt the profile picture uploader been fixed yet!?!?! seriously, i pointed this out to a few mlg staff members like a month ago ... and im sad i have this big white box as my picture :*(
underOATH Show
- May 30, 2006 - 5:15am
Highlights from last saturday's crazyness:
- Walsh and grant challenging dan and i to a 2v2 halo1 match under these circumstances: dan and i had to play on the 360 with the 360 controllers, we were playing on plasma tv's, off host, and walsh got to use his timer while we had none. the outcome of this was a 2 game beating in a best of 3, with scores around (cant remember exactly) 50-18 and 50-23. dan and i won of course
- After the first show (the 3pm show), a bunch of underoath fans found their way around back of the venue where the bus was, and mobbed the band members for pictures and autographs. timmy (crazy guy, guitarist) was asked by these 2 kids if he would take a picture with them, and he said "sure". then immediately after the kids took the picture with tim, one of them turned around and spotted walsh, and was like "OMG, YOURE WALSHY!". dave responded with a "haha yea, the ogres are here too, theres dan (points) and theres tom." so when the kids knew who we were and proceeded to ask us to take a picture with them, timmy flipped out b/c he couldnt believe it and started screaming "hey everybody look its TEAM FINAL BOSS get a picture with them!" haha, anyways, the guys in the band thought it was pretty ridiculous that we were recognized outside of a tournament (one of the first times thats actually happened too)
- shibby explaining/showing the "**** signal" (invented by pac) to timmy and grant. tim thought it was incredibly funny and was going around doing it all day. then before the 2nd show, shibby told tim that he should give the **** signal during the show, and tim guarenteed us he would do it....and sure enough he did. in fact, spencer surprised everybody when after the 2nd song and before the 3rd, he said something like "alright everybody, this song is for grant and all of his no-scope kills!!!" all 4 of us (dan rich walsh and i) were watching from the side of the stage b/c we had VIP passes, and we all went crazy when he said it....hahaha it was such a funny situation b/c the crowd was probly thinking "what the heck is he talking about", while at the same time these 4 crazy kids off to the side of the stage were going crazy and laughing their asses off (us). so then about midway through that song, tim turns around while playing his guitar and looks over at us, points, and then raises his right hand off the guitar and gives a firm "**** signal" hahhaha. he ended up doing it like 3 more times during that song, and grant even surprised us with one of his very own.
ok so im getting tired of typing, but pretty much we all had a great time. Grant is the man. tim is crazy. spencers new dog is amazing. aaron still hates halo. chris doesnt do yoga. james is the saiyan of underoath. walsh sucks at fight night for 360 (grant>walsh with ease.) As Cities Burn are a bunch of cool guys and im glad i got to meet them (their music is pretty sweet too). annnnnd this last week of school is gonna suckkkkkkkkkk.
http://www.myspace.com/underoath new cd comes out in 3 weeks.

also, lol at the drunken message. i was reading it thinking, "this ****er must still be drunk"

I'm Amazing
- March 9, 2006 - 9:29am
this is a very weird little story of something that just happened. its completely pointless, but at the same time...completely amazing.
so its 4 a.m. and i was hungry for a snack, so i grab 65 cents and go to the vending machine in the lobby of the dorm. i put my money in and i stand there for a good minute or two just staring at the different choices. i finally picked which one i wanted, and i punched in the code for it. i stood there and just watched the candy bar get spiral'd out of its spot by the metel spiral thing. and as it was happening, i was just staring at it and thinking "man, that would be so sweet if it somehow gave me two". the candy bar fell out and landed at the bottom and i continued to stare at the metal spiral thing. then about 5 seconds later, it starts up again....and spirals out another candy bar. wtf? i like, basically asked for another candy bar, and it gave me one. i was pretty darn tired when this happened as it was 4 a.m. and i seriously began to doubt that a 2nd one had actually come out - i thought i was just seeing things. i had to double check the bottom of the vending machine to make sure there were actually 2 candy bars before i believed it had just happened. it was pretty freakin sweet. i'm not entirely sure what this means....but it was one hell of an experience from such a dumb little error by the machine. yup thats my blog. i'm so amazing the candy machine gives me 2 candy bars.

In other news, the WinterLANd was a great time and we got a ton of great footage. I'm not too sure how long it will take to get the video out b/c we gotta go through it all and clip things out (some is already done but...being back in school its gonna take a while to finish) and then of course we gotta send it to DchozN to edit it into a movie. yup.
Oh and i havent been playing much halo2 recently. in fact ive hardly played at all since chicago but i plan on starting again here soon....seing as the national championships are almost here....oh wait..are they? POST SOME DATES CLAP.
mmmyup thats about it.
life is gooooood.
1. Did you go to MLG Houston last year?
2. Do you think the turnout of it was good enough for MLG to return to Houston?

He and the rest of his team went to Houston.
He doesn't make the decision on which events to go to for the 2006 season. However, one stop in Texas is tentatively planned for the 2006 season, but where in Texas is still up in the air. Just so you know, attendance for Halo 2 at Houston in the 2005 season was 52 teams.
