Say ByeBye to SmiSmi
- September 19, 2008 - 5:35pm

Update: Not quite sure how to say this, but I have quit MLG and gaming. It was a really fun experience and I feel so blessed for all the opportunities I have had. Sooner or later it had to come to an end though. MLG helped me bring out a side I never thought I had. I never thought I could be so competitive and be the best at something. I will miss everyone A LOT and I will keep all these memories close to my heart. Maybe I will stop by another tournament to check things out :)

Much LOVE, Felicia aka SMILEY<3

MLG Orlando- AMAZING.
- July 17, 2008 - 3:57am

Well I can definitely start by saying that Orlando was definitely the biggest and most fun tournament of this season. So let’s start from the beginning and not miss a single detail  I quit competing after San Diego and I told everyone that I was not going to Orlando. I flew in Saturday night around 6 and surprised EVERYONE! It was so fun to see everyone’s reaction especially since some of the people were best friends of mine that I had not seen in over 8 months. That night Lauren (Hyper Qt) told me about the elevator that went 28 stories and was entirely GLASS. I am pretty scared of heights, so of course I wanted to face my fear and go on anyways. There was a young couple who had “just married” pins on them, and I asked if they would like to come along as well, which they agreed to excitedly. It was amazing going up and seeing all of Florida underneath you. Let’s just say I was on that elevator many times and always getting people to come up with me for the ride. The Hotel was absolutely GORGEOUS and quite gigantic. Luckily there was a Starbucks in the main lobby, which I’m sure had some very good business that weekend! Near the venue, there are lots of couches with some TV’s nicely set up for people to relax. In no time MLG kids were hooking up their 360’s and playing halo there! I thought it was hilarious and very clever. On Sunday I was able to walk around and interview some gamers to find out more about the community and what people think of MLG, how they did, inspiration, and so on. It was interesting to see people’s different perspectives and view of MLG. The finals were absolutely insane and I have never seen such a big crowd. Hundreds of people were squished on mainstage and sitting as close as possible to it to watch the action. It was a very exciting series between Str8 and TD. You could tell that both teams were so passionate about winning and were giving everything they had to perform their best. The crowd was really loud and supportive with raging cheers and excitement. It was really a wild experience to be a part of and I will never forget it. Monday morning a group of us were off to Universal Studios and the Islands of Adventure. The humidity was pretty overwhelming at first ( I regret wearing jeans.), but after awhile I just decided to get over it and make the best of it. We went on all sorts of rides and rollercoasters, took pictures with characters, and ran into lots of other gamers. I had soooo much fun just hanging out with everyone and getting to experience something that I wouldn’t have been able to if it weren’t for MLG. That night, it was around 2 or 3 AM and I was dead tired and about to go to sleep. That is.. until Erin (Peach) dragged me along to the arcade to meet up with some people. Haha  . As soon as I saw Kill3n, I whipped out 5 bucks to buy tokens and challenged him to a DDR match. In no time, I was playing other people at DDR as well! The GamerNook guys were there and started making bets of who could beat who. I ended up winning $20! I was pretty happy that I agreed to go down to the arcade :D haha. To be honest though, I can’t even explain how fun this weekend was to me. Just so many random things happening and little spontaneous moments make everything so exciting. I loved seeing everyone and being able to hang out with them, watch games, and just experience Orlando at its finest. Definitely a weekend I will remember for the rest of my life.

Why'd you quit? I was playing opposite of your team every game for San Diego btw. I was at Station 24 and you and your team were at station 25. In some of the pics I have, I think Xena was in them, but I could hear you guys making call outs over ours which I thought was hillarious. Just curious as to why you quit though..

Orlando sounded like lots of fun. I wish I could have gone, especially knowing that I only live like 3 hours away in Miami. Did Genuwin still compete? Or were you the only one that sat out?

Smiley - Halo - MLG Meadowlands
- April 16, 2008 - 6:37pm

Well I just got home from MLG Meadowlands! The entire trip was a lot of fun and it was so great seeing everyone after so many months. I got to the tournament Friday morning after an overnight flight with my friend Allie. After crashing for a few hours, I made my way down to the venue and it was so exciting to see the massive crowd lined up outside the building. This is usually my favorite part of the MLG because you get to find all your friends, but this being the first time since the offseason made it all the more exciting! I was really curious to see how the venue would look since MLG had new sponsors such as Dr. Pepper. There was a really sweet Dr. Pepper lounge where they gave away free drinks, and there were also huge pictures on the walls of MLG Pros.

What is really exciting about this season is the fact that it is a brand new game, so Pro status is up for grabs for virtually any team that willing to work hard enough for it. I was really impressed by a lot of teams who were coming out of nowhere and making names for themselves. Saturday morning I was especially drawn to the game of Str8 against a team called Rainbow Riders. To my surprise, almost every game was neck and neck. A lot of new teams are looking really strong and don’t seem intimidated at all by the old Pro teams. Everyone seems a little nervous about the new intense competition this season. I can only imagine what is going to happen in San Diego and in general with Halo3.

The entire tournament itself though was really fun, other than me being sick on Saturday. It was so good to see everyone after so many months, like a big family reunion! I was so lucky to randomly end up having the same flights with both Allie and Rob Simpson. The plane ride home was absolutely hilarious. It started out with them playing the movie PS I love you, where Allie and I cried like babies for the entire movie. Afterwards, Rob Allie and I got into a super serious Go Fish game. We ended the plane ride by falling asleep on each other for the last 2 hours. Overall this tournament was definitely a good one and I can’t wait to see what happens in San Diego. I am really excited there is a California tournament :D We are definitely taking a road trip there and I’m pretty sure we are going to have people fly out early and lan. See you all there!!

P.S. you can find all the pictures on myspace.com/smileypms

Orlando
- September 29, 2007 - 5:59am

Orlando was definitely a fun tournament. I flew in Thursday night with my mom, Photon and Xtrem1st and Hyper QT picked us up =] (thanks Lauren!) Friday morning comes and im super excited for the FFA. I went in really confident and was at the top of my game up until the last few rounds. Unfortunately I only made it to 7th round losers again. It sucks being so close to Pro and not making it, but im going to be practicing every single day, since there is only one more chance for me to prove myself.
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Our entire team was very excited for Saturday. We picked up a new coach, Apoc! Hes very loud and keeps us pumped up. It took me a few games to get warmed up, but once I did, I was on fire! Others and myself noticed I had improved a lot since the last tournament. I remember getting the sickest killtac! It was beaver creek Team slayer or flag, i dont remember. Anyways, we were holding red base and I went to grab OS. As im running to it, I help kill someone and out BR like 2 people for a triple and right as im running into the hole to grab OS, I throw a random grenade needler side blue and out of nowhere it just goes KILLTAC and everyone behinds me freaks out. I also pulled some 1-2-doubles on people =] Lanning with Fonzi and Xtrem1st all the time really helped me out, and im going to continue that so we will see what happens in Vegas! Anyways, I was pretty disappointed that our team only made it to 5th round losers. I had a lot of confidence in us making pro, but it was still a fun tournament despite the bad placing.
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
I love our entire time to death and wouldnt trade it for anything =] Drummer is going to come down a week early to come lan and hang out so that will be a lot of fun! Unfortunately Zack and Bonnie cant because of school :( but we will be practicing a lot and im definitely going to try to go insane in the FFA for Vegas so see you all then!! Btw thanks so much to everyone who keeps supporting us, we love you!! See you all in Vegas =]

Great job in the FFA I know you didn't make pro but 7th losers is alot better then some/most people do.I've not been online in H2 since Halo 3 came out so I have not gotten a chance to play with you again:( I can't make it to Vegas but I'm probably going to be at most of the 08 season events, maybe I'll come say Hi. And again Great Job!!!

Smiley is BACK!/Chicago Blog
- September 13, 2007 - 5:16am

Hey everyone! I wanted to take time to apologize because my life has been crazy the past few weeks. I started sophmore year and I'm already getting destroyed by homework. Also my grandma had surgery and has been staying with us for the past month to recover >.< My other grandma has been diagnosed with breast cancer and basically a LOT of stuff has been going on over here. I was trying to find the new balance because my life has been changing and I did a horrible job.
Now I'm finding the routine and everything is becoming smoother and I'm getting back into halo and is back and more dedicated then ever! As some of you may know, xSn4kE could not make it to Orlando, so Genuwin has picked up Zachmioff! We will miss Ben, but we know Zachmioff will make a great addition to the team.
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Out of nowhere Orlando is only a week away and we find ourselves with barely any practice under our belts for Orlando. I hope we can pull together last minute and make another Pro Bracket appearance! I believe we can do it, especially with everyone supporting us =] I'm also going to start bootcamping FFA as well, since I made it to 7th round losers last time and was so close to Pro FFA! I feel horrible I never got a chance to put up my MLG Chicago blog, so better late then never right? Here it is =]
I flew out on Tuesday and chilled with my teammate Drummer, coach Photon and Butterz(AKA buttbutt). I must add that buttbutt is amazingly cool/funny and I have no idea how I have not been friends with him until this tournament, haha. Wednesday we were suppose to go to six flags but ended up not being able to because it was thundering/lightning :( Anywho we picked up Bonnie(Xena) that night and had some amazing deep dish Chicago pizza :D Thursday the epic lan happened! There were at least 35 people smashed into Drummers basement, including 5K, T2, Lammie, and lots of other really good players. Everyone got really good practice which is good, not to mention it was fun hanging out with everyone :D
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Friday comes and I'm pretty excited for the FFA. When I was called to my station for the first round, I freaked out when I saw that I was playing at station 17, because 17 is my favorite number. I took it as a sign, I was going to break the curse! Sure enough I made it to 7th round losers :D I was pretty worn out towards the end but somehow managed to make top 4 each game. Then I went into the round where if I made top 4 that round then I would finally be pro in FFA(long time goal). I had people such as ElamiteWarrior, TimeliestBrute, and Victory X in my round. Sadly I didn't make it past that round. Since I was so close though it gives me a lot of hope that if I practice it a little more that I can finally make both Pro FFA along with Pro 4v4.
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Anyways, lots of other cool things happened that tournament. My teammate Drummer told me how girls were coming up to him and congratulating our team and saying that since they saw Xena and I go pro that it motivated them to come to tournaments and try compete themselves. It's always awesome to hear things like that and this tournament I saw more girls than ever at an event. In my first round FFA there was 3 girls in it! Definitely a good thing helping support all the girls out there because we can easily keep up with the boys if we just practice and stay dedicated! Yee for Girl Gaming!
Saturday comes and my team is pumped and ready to go! It seemed like during every series we would lose the first game and then come back and dominate the next two. As Drummer says, we were just making the win more dramatic ;) We got knocked into losers bracket 5th round, which was the same as Dallas. The team we had to play to make Pro was Pokemon Breeders. We had played them in consolation matches in Dallas, and they had 3-0'd us. This time we took them to game 3 and lost by just 6 kills. It sucks knowing we didn't make pro again, but we know we have been improving and will continue to do so for Orlando.
I'm really excited for Orlando especially because I know we can make Pro 4v4 again, and now I can make Pro FFA too(hopefully :D)! Its going to be hard to practice both, especially with school starting, but I will do my best. Thank you so much to everyone who supports us, we love you! See you guys in Orlando :D

MLG Dallas
- July 25, 2007 - 1:09am

Hey guys! I just got back from Dallas last night and this entire weekend was definitely one I will never forget. Our team is Genuwin, which consists of Drummer, Snake, Xena, Coach Photon and myself<3 I got to Dallas around noon on Friday and met up with Drummer(Jeff) and Snake(Ben). Then we were off to the hotel and all of us were extremely excited. When I first walked into the hotel, I was truly in shock of how gorgeous everything was. As usual there were tons of people walking around in MLG shirts (I love that). Major props to MLG btw for always having an extremely nice hotel, and the venue was amazing also! I literally got lost in this hotel the first day and found my way to the venue by following Walshy! Hahaha. MLG rocks, they always have something new each and every tournament, you never know what to expect! The FFA was going great. I had Xtremist in my round and he basically destroyed everyone :] Except when I beat him the first round ;) haha but let me give you a little background. For some crazy reason, I have a curse of getting knocked out 4th round. This tournament I knew things were going to be different though. Guess what, I got knocked out 4th round by 1 KILL!!! I was tied for 4th, and with like 10 seconds left he was 2 kills ahead of me and I got a sick double Pink1 as the game ended and was happy because I knew I didn’t die that much. We go to stats and see that he somehow got a kill at the very last second. Ugh. It was okay though, I will play more FFA’s before Chicago :] Between Meadowlands I was really focused on team only. On Saturday my team was pumped and ready to go! We were at the venue right on time for warm-ups and didn’t lose 1 game against anyone! I was really impressed during actual games about how organized and strong the team was. We all knew our jobs and did them well! I remember one game on Beaver Creek Jeff and Ben went HUGE. We held red base, Bonnie had back port to make sure nobody flanked us, I was red needler/top red putting shots into everyone while Jeff got every single rocket spawn and Ben got every single OS perfectly thanks to Photon’s awesome coaching. Jeff and Ben ended up getting like 41 kills! Bonnie always has amazing teamwork and all I hear from her tv is constantly “killing spree!” She also holds down P2 like a champ. Jeff is pretty much the leader and keeps us organized while destroying, Ben is a complete BEAST and just kills everything, Bonnie is amazing support and is really smart while also racking up the kills. Our entire team just meshes really well with each other and I was really impressed this tournament because we had only practiced 6-7 times before Dallas. We placed 29th out of over 250 teams and were the first girls to make it into Pro Bracket. Words can’t describe how much I love my team and how proud I am of all of us. I feel bad Jeff and Ben weren’t mentioned much in the articles, because they played amazing and had so many clutch moments. Not to mention they are both ridiculous with the sniper :]
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

We played 13 hours on Saturday and had to play our final match on Mainstage to make it into Pro Bracket. We walked onto mainstage and the bleachers instantly started filling up. There were cameras, lights, everything to make this moment the most nervous/exciting feeling I have ever felt my entire life. We sat down, got ready, and we were all at the top of our game and ready to go! The crazy thing I realized is that when the game started I instantly zoned into the game. Not once did I think about the people watching the screen behind me, the pictures or the videos being taken. We were all just completely focused. The first game was Warlock TS, and we started down 14-3 I believe? Bonnie was never fazed though because she went on a killing spree and we all started playing smarter and not letting them get a lead on us anymore. We started beating them and kept a steady lead throughout the entire game thanks to Bonnie’s killing spree and Jeff and Ben going clutch! I don’t remember the ending score, sorry! I was very surprised though when I looked at the stats and saw that I had gone 18 and 8 :] The second game was Midship flag, and it was pretty close, but we lost by 1 flag cap in overtime even though Jeff went huge with 38 and 28. HAHA I have to add in that right after that game ended and we lost I had thought we lost the entire series (too zoned in maybe?) and I was all sad and was like “Nooo! We were so close! Oh my god….” and Jeff just looked at me and laughed, reminding me that we had won the first game. I pretty much felt like an idiot, but we all found it hilarious and I think it lightened up our mood going into the 3rd game. (I wonder If you could hear that on VOD?) Anyways, we were all completely ready going into Lockout TS, the game that would decide whether we would make Pro Bracket or not. I was surprised and so proud of how organized my team was as we instantly controlled BR tower and consistently had sniper the entire game. (Props to Photon for the amazing coach timing!) Ben was going nuts with the sniper. We held a constant lead and held strong with amazing teamwork as MDG was forced to start rushing over in attempt to break our setup. Bonnie was clutch with the last kill and we instantly jumped up and started hugging each other, the crowd was going nuts, MLG staff looked very happy, and cameras were going off. It’s a moment I will remember very well for the rest of my life, because I have never felt so happy and proud of my team.
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

I was even getting txt messages from people watching live on VOD. Before I forget, I had NO IDEA our voices were also being recorded during the series!! You will probably be hearing me say “come on!” and “lets go!” a lot. Its pretty much my thing to motivate the team as much as possible during games. After a minute we were escorted into the upper level of the Pro Lounge for some awesome interviews with the MLG Staff.
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

We are all very pleased with our performances and I love the people that cheered us on and supported us throughout the entire tournament, watching on VOD and in person. I love how everything turned out and I couldn’t ask for anything more. This weekend has been my dream since I ever started playing Halo. Just knowing it’s a reality now is beyond belief. I know I have talked about this possibly being my last season, but I just want to put it out there that there is no way I could ever possibly stop now. YES that means you will be seeing me for many seasons to come! Bonnie and myself are also really happy that we were able to give girl gaming a huge step in the MLG community. So many girls out there have so much potential and I know you girls can do it too. It takes a lot of hard work and dedication, but its so worth it in the end. I can only hope this inspires more girls to take gaming seriously, because we can keep up with the guys too!
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

We are definitely excited for CHICAGO! Now that we know what we need to work on, we will be practicing a lot more, and actually practicing the pro gametypes also. Photon and myself are flying out a week early to hang out, go to six flags and of course lan with Jeff and Ben before the tournament. Were hoping Bonnie is able to fly out early too! Im also definitely excited to get some amazing Chicago pizza I heard so much about!! We will see you guys there!!!<3

P.S. look how badly my leg got destroyed by me backing up into a light :(
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

P.P.S. on Monday our flight was delayed around 3 hours, and we flew home through a lightning storm… which was surprisingly SO fun

P.P.P.S. I want to thank again the people who have supported us throughout all of this. Our dreams are coming true and history is being made, and it wouldn’t be the same without you guys<3

MLG Dallas Pics and Story!
- May 22, 2006 - 8:50pm

Hey Guys! MLG Dallas was deffinately AMAZING! I loved seeing all the PMS Ladies and hanging out with all my friends. I was sooo thankful that we got to a hotel room where the venue was because we pretty much spent all day there until like 1 or 2 AM. It was all around amazing. The venue was beautiful and everyone was awesome and i really had a great time. Our team did pretty well, we got knocked out pretty quick but in FFA's me and Ninja got to 3rd round. There was a last minute change so we didnt really have much practice with our 4th ( Fedaykin ) but we had a fun time and it was a blast playing with my girlies <3
It was awesome going and representing the PMS clan and our sponsor Verizon FiOS !!!
I loved meeting some PMS Ladies and hanging out with everyone and everything! haha no words to explain i guess
