Have we lost it? - *NEWS* 13/19/06
Shooting at my school today.
"By Robert Melnbardis
MONTREAL (Reuters) - At least one gunman dressed in a black trenchcoat opened fire in a downtown Montreal college on Wednesday, and early reports said four people had died.
Students fled in panic from the building, and eyewitnesses reported blood on its entry steps, and inside the cafeteria where many of the shots were fired.
"It was the most scary thing that has ever happened to me," student Michael Boyer told CBC Television. "We ran out of the building as a SWAT team was coming in. They were screaming 'Where is he? Where is he?' And when you have 20 police running at you with guns you really know that your life is in danger."
Hospital officials told local television stations that 12 people had been injured, and six were in critical condition.
RDI Television quoted unofficial sources as saying that one gunman had turned his weapon on himself and committed suicide, while a second had been shot and killed by police. This could not be confirmed, and some police officers at the scene said they suspected there was only a lone gunman.
"A suspect has been neutralized, which means he is not shooting any more," said Ian LaFreniere, a police spokesman.
The shooting took place in and around Dawson College, a school with some 10,000 students between the ages of 16 and 19 in the heart of Montreal, Canada's second biggest city.
It triggered memories of the 1989 massacre at the Ecole Polytechnique de Montreal, where a gunman killed 14 women before killing himself, as well as of the 1999 Columbine massacre in Colorado, where two teenagers killed 12 other students and a teacher before killing themselves.
The Ecole Polytechnique gunman, Marc Lepine, 25, left behind a three-page letter claiming that feminists had ruined his life and naming 19 high profile Quebec women he wanted to kill.
Robert Soroka, a professor at Dawson College, told Reuters he was in his fourth floor office when heard shots being fired. He immediately ran down the hall and told teachers to keep their students in classrooms and close the doors.
"This could have been a very bad situation, if it had happened five minutes later when the students would have been exiting their classrooms during the changeover," he said.
Soroka said the shooting began at 12:45 and shots continued to be fired for about 30 minutes. He said he heard at least 20 shots. "
Impersonations and allot of them.

-
Well, I just took my first break from working 70 hour weeks at EA games. Me and my buddies thought it would be a smart move to go camping and get drunk all weekend, we where right.
My friends who came:
Arlie: Big funny pure Canadian guy.
Graeme: The Scottish military guy (his idea)
Friday I woke up at 4:00am to go into work because I’m the only one who knows how to set everybody up, they begged me to do it even tho I asked for this day off 3 weeks ago. I missed my train back so I had to wait an hour for the next one, but managed to be back in town around 1:00pm
I was pre-packed so we through everything in the car and drove up north for about 3 hours listening to Wu-Tang, Mindless Self Indulgence. AlexIsOnFire, Cypress Hill, Jack Black and allot more.
So we get to the camp site, and set up. Lucky me, I had happened to buy a new pack of cigs before going up. Once set up we just relaxed and started a fire, you know just chill, something I almost forgot I could do. Are neighbours showed up later that night, we stayed away from them and went looking for other people like us (girls) at the beach, nobody are age to be found. We went back to camp; me and Graeme decided we had to sleep outside under the stars, So we did just that.
Next morning I cooked up some french toast on the fire, yummy, and we got are day started. The plan of the day was to go to Mont-Tremblant, a very classy rich place up north; people from all over the Stats, Japan and Canada come to this place. Tremblant has the best ski/golf resort in Eastern North America and are plan to do everything stupid.
We get to the mountain and decided to visit some stores and take the sexy ski lift to the very top of the mountain (A 30 min ride with an awesome view as you go up).
To my surprise my friend pulled out a joint and lit it up on the lift, people going down that crossed us could not see us because of the smoke. I did not smoke with them, I quit a while back, but I did enjoy the lift up the mountain.
Back at the camp site I get the smart idea to climb a mountain, not any mountain, the tallest one we can walk to. So we had to literally climb giant walls of rocks and sideway tree’s to make our way up. Only me and Graeme made it to the very top where I stood hands in the air screaming my lungs out how much I ***** the mountain. On our way back down in the dark (at dawn) we had to be very careful. Allot of rocks and cliffs, if you don’t pay attention its sure death. So as we make are way back down all I herd from behind me was “I just pushed a tree down… OH **** JOEY!!!!” Arlie pushed a dead tree the size of my waist down, it crashed hitting the back of my shoe. If I was standing Half a foot more… just a little more back I WOULD BE DEAD! The tree was huge and ****ing heavy. I’m alive now, but god damn that felt so weird.
We got back to the camp site around supper time and I made some cheeseburgers and S’mores. After starting to drink, are neglected neighbours get curious and come over to say “hello”. It turns out they are our age and they are 3 guys with 5 girls (All hot) so we invite them to come hang around our fire. We all start to get pretty wasted, the 1 guy and his girlfriend call it an early night, and the other guys leave to go check out the music group, so we are left with two hot girls.
After some more drinking and getting to know each other we decide to go swimming at the beach. We get to the beach and everybody except me and Arlie have no bathing suits.
The girls convince me to go in my boxers, but once in the water I realized they took everything off. Me, Graeme, two hot naked wet girls, my boxers came off pretty fast.
I started making out with the tall blond snowboard chick, her name was… … hmm… something like Daphne.
Anyways it rained that night and I offered Daphne a place to sleep for the night, as her tent was full of people already asleep. We packed up the next morning because it was going to rain the rest of the weekend. I was burnt out from no sleep and in need of a good shower, so that’s when we called it a trip and left to go back home.
Brief explanation:
1) Our Camp site was the bomb.
2) The peak of Mont-Tremblant is beautiful.
3) Mountain climbing is only dangerous with Arlie around.
4) Scored one hot chicks phone number.
If you need a weekend off from work, call me up, I think ill need another one soon.

My Pro-Gaming Job continues.
- August 29, 2006 - 2:51am
Well, I have been out of the picture for a little, been working over 70h at my new Job with EA Games. I have tested and played every single EA game not out yet and every console.
Talking about console, I’ll be getting the Nintendo Wii next week. So ill be sure to play it and try out how amazing this thing is. Next month I will be bathing in the advanced graphics of the PS3. I don’t know when we will be getting the new PSP, I did not ask.
I also got promoted at my work, so now I tell people what to do.
One of the reasons I got promoted was because of how much I know about how games and consoles affect people (How to enjoy the little things, how to make a game competitive and fun, and etc.). Another good reason why I got promoted is because of my PR skills.
Well, I have 2 go back to bed for work tomorrow.
Ill keep ya posted on everything new.
I’m out (Like a bellybutton on a fat guys after the food fest)

I now work for EA
- August 9, 2006 - 3:06am
Reviewing my resume, EA decided I would be a great add one to pre-development game testing/compiling force. With my rich knowledge of the gaming world and having been around for years in competitive section of MLG and CS, along side my experience with Mute-Radio and www.Gaming-Lessons, I now work on game titles you will only see in a year or long months.
YES my name will be in the credits and yes I do get paid good to play games. If you have seen Grandmas Boy then you knows all about what I do, but where so much cooler.
I also convinced my team to get some Halo LANs in; I can’t wait to get a giant LAN going. My work is so amazing; I think I wet myself while first stepping into the place.
I will write up some funny stories that happen at my office about some Crazy DDR and Halo challenges we go through.
For now I have to hit the sack, need to be in shape to play (Cant reveal any names) tomorrow.
<3 all.

Back up on top of the Game

I happy to say Gaming-Lessons is back up better than before.
Oh boy, do I have some news for you.
For those who read my blogs, I last mentioned that the last webmaster was completely unprofessional so we got him replaced. Chris from 2039 is are new Gaming-Lessons web designer. After Dallas you can expect a full range of articles weekly and site updates daily. Catch your jaw from dropping because that isn’t all.
We have now added SSBM to our roster of games, impressive I say.
“You will be tutored by some of the top players in the nation. Currently we have HugS from California, Eddie from Illinois, and the founders, Husband and Wife from Maryland. We perform the lessons in person, so location will usually determine your instructor. If you can't make it to us then we can drive to you, or you can sign up for a lesson at an upcoming tournament. “ - http://www.gaming-lessons.com/ssbm.php
We have also obtained another writer to join the G-L crew. Who is it you ask?
Nobody less than Thomas Stoecklein also knows to others as Bluestrike2 who will be writing for Gaming-Lessons. I have read some of his work and I can’t wait to see some of his works posted on are front page. Weeeeeeeeee!
With a new webmaster with nothing but magic down his sleeves, SSBM powered by some top players, and Bluestrike2 bedazzling are front page, what more can you ask after such a long break? (That’s a rhetorical question by the way.)
All instructors will be attending MLG Dallas this weekend so don’t expect any replies until Tuesday. Join the Gaming-Lessons forums for all inside scoops and stories, join the next big thing.

- April 29, 2006 - 2:50am
The site will be shut down starting tomorrow Saturday April 28.
For all those who read this and site will be updated to version v4.
We have hired a new site guy since the old one was unprofessional.
With v4 coming up we expect things to go allot better. We are adding allot of new features to make life easier for the instructors and the students. We are also switching the payment system from PayPal to a more practical system using all credit cards and bank cards.
When the site will be back up exactly I do not know and will update again when I do know.
On another note here is a msg from Tsquared:
“Tonight I will be traveling to Miami to compete in PGL for $1,000 so lessons are still being delayed since NYC. When I get back I will be emailing all of my students and we will get the ball rolling on training for Dallas. Wish me luck!

Gaming-Lessons
I miss you all, I know I haven’t been on live since a week now but do not fear ill be back soon. My room is under some renovations and will be done quickly, allowing me back on online.
Since I do not have any more Gaming-Lessons girls, I have decided to make some backgrounds for you all. I hope you enjoy them; I took some of my own time to make them for you.
Gaming-Lessons is running great.
Here are some FAQ’s I get.
Q: When will I receive me lesson?
A: You will be contacted by your instructor a week and a half from purchase date.
Give a total of 10 business (and tourney) days until you send me an e-mail.
We have a calendar feature on the site telling you if the instructors are busy or not, use it.
Q: Who should I choose?
A: I can not choose or give you my personal opinion, as I give every instructor a equal chance at being picked. Each instructor is unique and can teach you something another Instructor can't. Visit a instructors bio for details on what they teach.
Q: I don’t have money or PayPal, what do I do?
A: If you don’t have the money to buy a lesson save up. I am not offering anybody free lessons. If you don’t have PayPal ask your parents or make one at Http://www.Paypal.com if you can’t, then I am very sorry for you but I can not help.

NY predictions & Gaming-Lessons news
- February 25, 2006 - 10:09pm
NY predictions
Finally after one whole season of none stop action we have reached the most exciting conclusion, the finals. This season we have seen Team 3d take the cake every time but one, being defeated by TmG in Philadelphia, proving to all that anything is possible.
After much anticipation and waiting, the finals will be going down in New York this weekend. VBookie will be going mad, people will be screaming, hearts are going to be broken, but one thing is for sure, nobody will be left untouched.
Well I had to look far and wide, deep and near for my NY predictions. Nothing has been easy for anybody, especially for any of our contenders. Good fights will be fought, that is for sure. Some of you will like my picks, others will not, but I will deliver them to you anyway. I will be betting my MLG money on, but if you choose to go with what I say, remember it was your decision not mine.
Team 3D has had the same roster for a long time and have been doing amazing; most of the players on the team are not cocky. With Walshy and his astounding leadership skills, The Ogre twins’ crazy slaying and Saiyan’s insane team work, I predicted them to steal first place on my NY top 10.
Team Phreaks (IGS). Karma, Shockwav3, Gandhi, Strongside, all spectacular players; All they need is some team work and coordination. Another outstanding team you can expect remarkable things of. Karma equals a amazing FFA and single player, winning several top places over the 2005 season, Shockwave and Strongside, both being equally amazing FFA players and bulldozers in games are sure to bring one big punch in for the team, and Gandhi being a amazing team player will sure to help out his team a lot as they clear a way into a 3 rd spot on my NY top 10.
Legendz, the name says it all. Being part of a Legend is cool enough but replacing the S with a Z is the bomb. Tsquared have placed top 3 with his former team mates (TmG) almost every time, Defy for being huge, Vash for being one of the smartest guys I have seen all season long on top of being a excellent player, and the man of the hour every hour, Toxin, will be getting the third position in my NY top 10.
Str8 Rippin, a very respected name and one to be feared. Having Fonzi and Foulacy we know they have power, but with Killer N and Cpt Anarchy to back them up, we are sure to see some amazing game plays. The combination of outstanding players will drive this team into second place according to my predictions, I see them playing games all week long, they strive to achieve perfection. Killer N is one of the most outstanding players Halo 2 has encountered so far and Cpt Anarchy has a great play style.
Str8 Rippin are sure to give Team 3D a run for their money.
The Devils Army will burst threw the flames of hell and take an immense seventh place in my NY top 10. Gho57ayame, pistol, melloz, and Game are going to show us some old school fashion halo 2. The combination of great players and attitude will drive this team to play some amazing and tight matches. Ghost was everybody’s favorite amateur and is sure to be as loved now that he is Pro. Pistol, has an amazing BR and has proven so many times he isn’t a small time player. Melloz and Game are both great people, but in game I would not want to face them as their bullets check me out from the barrel of their guns.
Team EG, what does it stand for? Rumors say it stands for Evil Geniuses or something else. Either way they just like to be called Team EG. Gspot and Sadpanda are some of the greatest Canadian halo players. Mack the most laid back kid you know, I’m sure he’s Canadian deep inside. BlackJak is as wild as the game is after your tenth shot of screwdrivers in a nude bar. Team EG was the hardest team to place because they have so much potential but since they have done okay at the last tournaments I have predicted them a fine sixth spot. One thing is sure; I would love it if they could surprise me.
Exit Woundz, everybody remembers how they stormed Chicago and took second place But this time they have added some extra firepower to their already deadly arsenal, Zyos.
Itwasluck, Bonfire, Samurai, Zyos are sure to keep the other teams on their toes, they have crazy team work and amazing game strats, which is why I have predicted them a third place winning on my NY top 10.
Go Gamers, Ra4, and PBR, all of them being crazy good teams, and I could only wish them the best of luck. They have power and good team work, that’s why they get to be in my top 10 for NY, All the teams deserve allot of respect as they sure could drive wonder into your most outrageous beliefs.
1) Team 3D - OGRE 1, OGRE 2, Walshy, Saiyan
2) Str8 Rippin - Foulacy, Fonzi, Anarchy, Killer N
3) Exit Woundz - Bonfire, Zyos, Samurai, itwasluck
4) Team Phreaks - Karma, Shockwav3, Gandhi, Strongside
5) LeGendZ - Tsquared, Vash, Defy, Toxin
6) EG - Mack, SadPanda, Gspot, Blackjak
7) Devils Army - GH057ayame, Pistol, Melloz, game
9) Go Gamers - Pyrocy, Shook on3, Vegett0, Lightking
10) PBR - Detach, Chaos, Hellboy, Beware

Pro Gaming *BIG BIG BIG*
- February 2, 2006 - 9:43pm
"To a lot of gamers who have been playing multiplayer PC games for some time now, professional competitive gaming seems like a phenomenon whose time has passed. It doesn't really get the same coverage amongst the online gaming community that it once did, and beyond that the gaming audience has been changing radically over the last few years. Johnathan "Fatal1ty" Wendel seems to be doing alright, though. He's got an officially licensed mouse and a sound card now, he's made a whole ton of money, and 60 Minutes just did a show about him.
Wendel has been a pro for six years. When we first interviewed him last summer, he said he had won over $300,000 in tournament prize money. There are parents all over the country that are telling their kids, "Shut off the video game. You're wasting your time." Wendel says he got that, too. At age 24, he has won 41 tournaments, playing the same shoot-em-up video games that you can buy in most stores and living a life most young men his age can only dream of. He has traveled, all-expenses paid, to every continent except Antarctica. He has played in Moscow's Red Square, and on the Great Wall of China. And everywhere he goes, he is besieged by fans.
Maybe what competitive gaming needs for a resurgence is this kind of figure that gets trotted out to the media (and it's been a while since Thresh was around)."
