The Chris Farley Show
- May 17, 2008 - 12:31am
The book is told in a "conversation" or "interview" kinda way. Every paragraph is told from a different person, but keeping the time line. So it starts out with his friends and family back home in Madison, Wisconsin then progresses all the way up to his death.
It's very interesting to see writers, friends, family, girlfriends, etc be so candid about his problems. They detailed the events of his binges, without glamorizing them. I knew Chris had a problem from the details leading up to his death but I never thought it was this bad. It pretty much portrays him as a junkie, which he was. But in my mind when I hear of Celebs who are having problems I usually just imagine them in some high rise hotel, doing a line of coke at the dinner table with their monocle or something. I never envision them as junkies.
I almost finished the book last night but thought I should save the final 30 pages or so till today because I knew how the final chapter was gonna go. It was difficult. One of this brothers and his friend / personal assistant found him in the morning after a 4 day binge. The call girl who left him their to die the night before was nice enough to steal his watch and take a fuckin' picture of him passed out on the floor (even worse, I had been gogglin' Chris a few weeks ago and found a picture of him, I don't think it was the one she took but still). What really gets you in the end accounts of everyone. Each paragraph pretty much ends with something along the lines as, "That was the last time I saw him alive."
It was the most emotional I had got in awhile. I was reading reviews on Amazon and saw others had cried as well during the final chapter. For me, there hasn't been another comedian or actor that I really felt a connection to stronger than Chris Farley. I changed to a different school system for High School years and meeting new people was a difficult process for someone like me, but acting like Chris helped ease the burden. My best friend during those times was also a huge Farley fan as well but had the build of David Spade. So we were a natural team.
This was going to be a topic but I thought it turned more into a blog about half way through it. Feel free to comment if you happen to come across this.
The Games
- November 11, 2007 - 6:12am
I understand it's the holiday season and there are supposed to be a boat load of games that come out but to be perfectly honest this is a bit crazy. I've been playing games for the better half of my life and I've never had this many games come out at the same time. Last year we Call of Duty 3, Rainbow Six: Vegas, and Gears of War for the big Holiday rush (and I'm sure I'm missing others) and I thought there couldn't possibly be a bigger year. Games that I've played or rented in the last couple of months: Halo3, Orange Box, PGR4, Guitar Hero III, & Call of Duty 4. 5 games with amazing replay value and enormous Multiplayer support.
Halo 3. What more can I say that hasn't been said before? The amount of "extras" that are included in the game are crazy. I was reading a review in EGM saying there weren't any "wow" moments in Halo3 like the first two games. Are you insane? The first time I loaded up Forge and The Theater I knew gaming in general would never be the same and competitive games would NEVER be the same. I guess since I'm tied so closely to the MLG community I could understand alittle better about how big these two items will be.
Orange Box. I'm not a big fan of Half Life for some reason. Prolly just my pig head still angry because it stole the thunder from Halo at an E3 once. Maybe one day I will play it but it isn't going to be anytime soon. This whole "package" of games has unfortunately been swept under the rug for the time being. It's prolly the weakest game IMO of the five I've bought but bought any other time of the year I would still be playing it. I really only gave Portal a good chance and I was addicted to the game, even given the short time it took to beat it.
PGR4. Project Gotham Racing has always held a special place in my gaming heart. Right next to Halo 1. Not sure exactly why but I believe it has something to do with High Speed Internet. My town Finally got HSI and I was finally able to use XBOX Live and the first title I played the hell outta was PGR2 (no Halo2 yet). Unfortunately the game has taken a big slide and it's not even close to PGR2 but still super fun. When in a time of nothing but FPS it's a great break and it's even better once I hook my IPOD up to it and listen some fast songs. Nonpoint - In the Air Tonight (remake)
Guitar Hero III. Let's get this outta the way right now. I'm not good at the game. I'm just alright at best. I only play Medium and have ZERO ambition to move on to Hard or Expert. I play games to have fun, not to pull out my hair on how hard a games is. I know some of you (Juno) enjoy the challenge, but that ain't me. I only rented this game because I'm trying to offset my cost of Rock Band later this month (like we need more games). The Weezer song on there is easily one of the best to play and as a whole I think the franchise keeps going up. I'm not one to rock out on the golden oldies so anything current is gonna play better for me. The Foo Fighters DLC came out and I snatched that up post haste. The Pretender isn't that enjoyable because of the amount of Red & Blue combos.
Call of Duty 4. I was in the Beta and right from the start I thought this game was gonna come up big. Did I think it was gonna come up this big? No wai. The only thing that is holding the game back from being Game of the Year in my opinion is the fact that Halo3 offers so much more and feels just a Tad bit more polished. That being said, I'm enjoying the hell outta it. Unlocking weapons seems kinda iffy on paper and didn't really dig the game till I reached Level 9 when I got my M4 Carbine full auto. I'm interested in seeing how it holds up in the next couple of weeks. If I'm still playing COD4 and no Halo3 wouldn't that make it the GOTY?
That should hold me off for now I guess. I have like 3 more songs to listen to on Angels & Airwaves then I'm calling it an early night. Fantasy Football is tomorrow. Maybe I'll hit the blog up again once Rock Band, Assassins Creed, Super Mario Galaxy, and others come out.

Softball, Comics & More
- June 19, 2006 - 2:34pm
I'm not sure what got me into the craze again but lately I've wanting to read comics. So the other week I went over to my Dad's house where I was currently storing all my comics & action figures. Back in the day, like 5 or 6 years ago, I was heavy into comics. Mainly Mainstream kinda stuff. Xmen, Superman, alot of stuff from Image, etc. So I brought over all my old collectables and sorted through the action figures and put like 40 of them up in my dehn (gaming room). I will post some pictures hopefully soon. Then after looking at my Onslaught figure I really wanted to read the whole series. Searched alittle bit online at Wikiepida and found the reading order since it spanned like 10 different series. I have MOST of them, not all. Either way, I busted out like 7 or 8 of them last night. Very interesting read. I would recomend buying the paperbacks but for some reason they are very $$$. Anyone know a good place to buy comics online? I would like to fill in some spots in my collection.
That's pretty much it for the weekend. Played some Halo with some random people. Had lunch with my boy Shutkas & his family. My father is overseas so I didn't get to hang with him on Fathers Day. That's about it I guess. Enjoy.
also- why not sell your comics and hten get the hard bound versions... i think it might be cheaper cuz its a reprint.. but it'd last longer too.. it doesn't seem like you really take care of the comisc since theyr'e just stored at your dad's house... especially if it's in a heated env, the color would bleed to through the pages etc, and the quality of the paper starts to get hard instead of theglossy texture some of the comics picked up..
okay... @_@.... i like comics too lol..
gl with your softball game... i don't buy comics online so i dunno a place.. i just know i buy em from a local store here " geoffrey's comics" in torrance california.. you should try and see if theyhave an online store

I would rather just keep all of them and if I ever do have a kid, they can geek out on them. If not, maybe I can sell them one day.

Concert & Softball
- June 10, 2006 - 10:13pm
And for those who don't understand about Country concerts let me explain. There was about 14,000 people there last night. And 13,000 of them were ladies. I'm not talking regular ladies either. I'm talking about smokin' hot, little skit wearing, cowgirl hat pimping, chicks. You really don't understand till yer there. That fact alone justified me being there.
Now to the second part of this post. My softball team. We finally won our first game. 1 and 4 right now. Lucky for us we are taking on the worst 6 teams in the league for our next 6 games. We could actually do good this season!! Here's our offical team picture after our win:

Even if your pickup lines are "If I liked girls, I'd like you" you'd still walk out a happy man (or a dead one depending on who you talked to).

Bored At Work
- June 2, 2006 - 7:31pm
Alright, now that they're gone what should I do? What should I talk about? I know, my Job. That should a good first blog. I work at a Plastics Factory here in Three Rivers, Michigan. I started about 6 years ago on the plant floor. I'm guess not alot of you know about manual work. Let me break it down to ya, it sucks. Wait a second, let me rephrase that. The WORK sucks but the JOB itself is good. You come in, do yer work, blam! yer done. You don't take anything away with ya.
About a year ago another company bought us and implemented a continous improvement plan. A major part of that plan is me. When I was an operator I was the best. I don't brag (much) but this is something I can brag about. Any job they through at me, I did it better than anyone. Anyways, I'm in charge or what we call a Cell. It's just a certain machine that has X amount of people in it. Curretly I have two cells, TR-05 & TR-TPM. The second one is Maintenance. It's a tricky cell because I gotta help that department get organized. And if you take nothing else away from this blog, take this. Maintenance Men aren't organized & they love to keep everything.
My job is pretty basic right now. I don't have MAD computer skills but I have enough where I can do alot in a short amount of time. Plus one major advantage I have over the other people in my department is that my Mom works in the same office as me. And I must say, she's a BEAST at any Office program. She's been using them since the day they came out. Any question I have is just an extension away. Since I have these skills it allows me to have a certain amount of free time. Well, I really shouldn't say they allow me to have it, but no one is currently *****ing at me to get to work. I guess I could go back out to the floor and kick some ass there but it's just not worth it to me anymore.
Well, that's I have for now. I have about another hour and half till work is done and then it's the weekend. For some reason I look forward to the weekends more now. You would have thought it would be vice-versa since my old job involved alot of physical labor. I hope you enjoyed my first blog and maybe I'll write about more interesting stuff. Like my first tournament or Halo Nationals. Enjoy
