I am basically incredible.
Life is SUPER
- March 3, 2008 - 6:53pm
It has been a very, very long time since I blogged (most due to me missing the v3 blogs) so I have decided to give a small update on what I have been doing (not that anyone cares). :)
School
Currently I'm in my 3rd year of school (out of 5?) and finally have settled upon a major. For the longest time I was choosing a different major every week. I have decided to pursue accounting after going from mathematics to education to marketing. Took me a while to finally decide, but I feel as if its the best choice for me. Oh and after a miserable start to my college career (1.9 GPA after 1st semester thanks to the new environment), I have finally 'stepped my game up' and been able to get it up to a 3.01 cumulative.
Academics are rather boring so lets change the subject. Going into this past fall, my friends and I decided to get out of on-campus, and live in a house for the year. If I can give any advice to any college student, as soon as you are able to get out of the on-campus dorms and apartments. You don't feel constricted, have more freedom, and don't have to worry about pesky RAs ever. Not to mention make sure you live wit the right people.
Last spring, I pledged a fraternity (sigma pi), which has been going well. I'm currently on the eboard for the fraternity, so I have more responsibilities outside of academics that I have to take care of. Outside of that, nothing too exciting is going on here at my school.
MLG
After a little internal debate amongst myself, I decided to return as a referee once again for this upcoming season. I wasn't sure if I wanted to stay involved, but after thinking about it I decided what the heck. It will be good to see all the people I have met through MLG and Halo. On that subject, I have lost touch with a lot of the MLG people in my local area over the past few months, and rarely talk to them like I once did. I guess the main form of contact was through Halo and Xbox Live, which I rarely play outside of playing with my roommates. I haven't played any of the MLG gametypes, nor do I ever even play custom games.
I'm also a forum manager, so if you guys could help out, just follow the rules that currently exist. It will make all our lives easier, and help everyone enjoy themselves much more on the forums.
SUPER BOWL
Basically this was the main reason I wanted to write this blog. I have wanted to blog about it for a while now, but haven't really sat down to do so.
Let me first start off and say I'm a Giants Fan. I'm addicted to NY Giants football. Outside of MLGpro, its the site and forums I'm most active on. I have watched every play every game for so many seasons now. I'm also able to go to half the home games due to my dad and his partner splitting season tickets.
Literally minutes after Lawerence 'prime' Tynes kicked his game winning FG in OT against the Packers in the NFC Championship game, my phone was ringing. I checked the Caller ID, and picked it up immediately. It was my dad, who was also ecstatic and elated about the big win. Some where during the conversation and says we are going to the superbowl. I originally assumed he was talking about the Giants, but he then emphasized the WE. My dad had won the season ticket holder lottery for Super Bowl tickets, and there was not a chance he was turning it down. So for face value of $700 a ticket, I was going to be heading to Glendale, Arizona to witness SuperBowl XLII.

Fast forward two weeks (which were the longest two weeks of my life), and we finally made it to Arizona Friday afternoon. On Saturday, we got out of the Phoenix area for the day and went out to Sedona. We went to one of the state parks, and hiked for a good 2 hours. It was amazing how much different of a landscape compared to NJ. Instead of trees, there are cacti all over the hills and mountain tops. On Saturday night, the NFL was hosting a free concert right around ASU. The bands featured were Boys Like Girls and Counting Crows. In addition to the concert, there was a hell of a fireworks show on the water. It was fun to just get involved in all the festivities that were taking place in Phoenix. You could feel the excitement in the air non-stop.

Super Bowl Sunday had arrived. I work up extremely early in the morning full of emotions. I was both excited and nervous. Just a month ago, I was at Giants Stadium and almost saw the Giants upset the Patriots in Week 16. I was about to witness the rematch, where no analyst gave the Giants a shot. I wasn't sure what to expect going in, but I felt as if either team could possibly win.

We arrived to the gates of the stadium about two hours before kickoff.

Summer is coming to a close.
Yesterday was my last day of work this summer. Landscaping was one of the worst jobs I have ever decided to do. I'm thrilled its finally over.
Tomorrow, I will be moving into my apartment down at school where I will be at until next May. I'm extremely excited that college is starting up again and I can't wait to pimp out my apartment.
Bascially today and some of tomorrow might be the last time I will be able to play Halo 2 until next summer and maybe this winter break. So get some games in with me so I can teach you how to play
.
I changed some stuff to my blog so check it out.
1 week til i see you clowns in orlando. =)

FREE Sennheiser 555s
- August 8, 2006 - 2:51am
So basically I bought a sweet pair of Sennheiser 555s a long time ago and now I really don't need them or care to have them anymore. This is the same pair of headphones Final Boss wears(and many more) with the exception of Sir David Walsh. They have barely been used so they are in fantastic shape.....
So you want them? Listen up.
1. You must have attended an event this year.
2. You must be attending Orlando so I can give you them.
I doubt I will just choose one person, but instead there might be some sort of mini contest. Keep your eyes open =)

chicago = amazing. orlando > amazing?
- August 3, 2006 - 7:10pm
Yes Chicago took place like two weeks ago but I just needed to comment on how amazing and spectacular the event truly was.
Being the sick judge I am, I got to judge/ref at one of the stations that had the DVD recorders set up so all the sick my matches were either at my station or at one of the two stations right next to me.
Aside from judging, the event had so many exciting, stunning, and dramatic matches. CbN was upset in WB by SV after losing game 5 50-49 Midship TS. The match was so amazing that while I was judging i had to keep taking a peek behind me to see how it was going. Once game 5 rolled around and it was nearing its end, my eyes were glued on the TVs.
After CbN was stunned, I continued to judge my station which was where STR8 and S1G were playing at. Somehow S1G was able to pull off the unthinkable and send STR8 to LB.
Fast forward to Sunday, which overall was incredible. The LB finals between CbN and SV might have been the best series of H2 I have ever witnessed. I'm including all 11 games that were played in that series. BC TS was one of the best Team Slayer games I have watched. It was so unbelievable that CbN came back from so far behind with so little deaths to take. It was so unbelievable I found myself celebrating at the main stage.
SV would then put CbN away for good in the tiebreaker which was almost another insane comeback by CbN, but they didnt have it up their sleeves that time.
We then saw SV put on the best fight against FB since Nationals where CbN(then TEAM PHREAKS) put up a hell of a fight.
Now with all the team changing I'm excited to see how all of it will equate.
Capt Carlos is on STR8, a team he is familiar with and a team that played FB/3D well in LA. I wish him the best and all the success in the world.
And a good friend, Eric Hewitt who before MLG LA last season was just ur average xbl random kid has now found a home in CbN. Sad to see StrongSide not be a part of CbN any longer, but I'm excited for Eric and I hope he performs well for that top 3 team
I can't wait for ORLANDO. 3 WEEKS?!?!?
