Knowing When to Hold the Hill

![]() Often times a young but talented team will opt to continually kill the opponent nonstop, yet find themselves on the losing team at the end of the match. You can kill until your killing spree turns in to a rampage, but if you’re not getting hill time, you won’t win the game. Here are some cues that should help you decide when to be in the hill: * Is the other team far away? All four of the opposing team's members can be alive, but if they aren’t near the hill, get in there! Communicate with your teammates to try and take advantage of the other team’s disorganization.
Sometimes you have to hold the hill, even if you have a coveted sniper rifle. Remember hill time trumps all!
* Can you snag 5-10 seconds? KoTH is a game of seconds. If you can consistently hop in the hill for even 5-10 seconds, that will add up fast. Test out the opposing team. If you can exploit their lack of focus on the hill, you can win the game even if you’re not getting many kills. Experiment! Test out the opposing team, learn from mistakes by watching film and try to develop strategies for each hill position. The more organized you and your teammates become, the easier it will be to dominate in a game of King of the Hill. |
