Defending the Hill

 Defending a hill can be one of the most enjoyable parts of Halo 3. A smart player can accumulate a lot of kills while helping their team get heaps of time. Here are some things to consider when you find yourself as a defender of the hill. * Take advantage of the lone charger. If the other team aggressively pursues the hill, just pick them off. Your slaying efforts will allow your teammates to rack up the time. * Know when to back off. If you’re the last one alive and hopping into the hill will get you killed quickly, step back and position yourself to help respawning teammates. If you stay alive and avoid contact, it's possible you will spawn your teammates closer to the hill and keep them from having to trek back across the map. * Sometimes you have to sacrifice yourself. Your life is not more important than the game! Remember that sometimes a kamikaze run into the hill to get that last guy out of there will save your team the valuable seconds needed to win, especially in a hotly-contested race. Whoever said defense wasn’t a fun position has never played King of the Hill. |
