Don't fall silent just because you're holding the ball. You can still call out important things, like power-up respawns!
* When you hold the ball you do the same amount of melee damage as anyone else, a significant change from Halo 2. No longer can the ball carrier take out attackers by pulling off a jumping melee attack. * Remember: while you hold the ball, your team is basically playing 3v4, due to your inability to shoot. * A ball carrier can still communicate. Just because you can’t shoot, doesn’t mean you can’t use your mic to help your teammates. When carrying the ball, think of yourself as the goalie in soccer – you don’t want to see shots fired on you, so you must direct your teammates to prevent this from happening. *As the ball carrier, it may be necessary for you to shift your position around the map in times of peril. You want to put as much geometry and as many teammates as possible between you and the enemy at all times. Doing so will allow you to maintain possession and build a solid lead. |
