Legit Schools You in Team Slayer Onslaught

 Legit sent in a video of his team, Str8 Rippin, dominating Under the Influence in the Winners Bracket Semifinals of the first Halo 3 Pro Circuit Ladder Playoffs for the 2008 season. In making quick work of UtI, Legit makes excellent decisions and much can be learned from watching this video with a critical eye. By not overextending themselves, Str8 uses their team-shot more effectively to jump out to an early lead and gains map control. Legit stays farther back in red base than anyone and it works: he barely misses the overkill at 14:07. Beware the melee. If you’ve played in matchmaking you’re sure to have made the common mistake of meleeing too early. Legit does this at the 14:00 minute mark. Perhaps a vestige of the Halo 2 days, where the melee lunged much farther, or just a result of being trigger happy, make sure you’re close enough to the enemy before trying to punch them out. They don’t call him a man-beast for nothing. Legit, like his old partner Naded, is of the younger tradition known for charging through for epic kills and crucial slaying support. At 13:45 Legit pushes through for a beautiful double kill. Throughout the match you can spot him making aggressive decisions (again at 11:55) that put extra shots on the enemies. Especially on an open, symmetrical map such as Onslaught, where there are many angles of cross fire, this type of play is beneficial. Legit knows that his teammates are aware of the enemy's position and can be confident in their ability to finish off what he started. |
