The mauler is the “new” shotgun.
The mauler serves as the shotgun replacement in MLG settings. With 110% damage settings it can still kill in one shot, and no other short-range weapon can compete with it. Typically when you gain control of a Mauler it’s a good time to maintain areas with close corridors and exercise patience. Communicating when enemies come near will almost guarantee a kill if you can land your Mauler shot.
