Samus Missile Canceling

![]() Shooting missiles from the ground with Samus can be dangerous because of the lag following a shot. To compensate for this weakness, Samus can missile cancel. Missile canceling is performed by short hopping, then timing the missile fire (Side-B) just as Samus begins to fall from the peak of the jump. Using the back flip jump, where you short hop while holding backward on the control stick, makes the timing easier and lets you retreat while sending missile barrages. Fast falling the missile shot takes different timing, but is quicker. Missile canceling can be used for approaching or retreating because of the increased mobility it allows. |
