Instinct and Classic were both out, finishing fifth and sixth place respectively. For each of these teams, this was not where they had expected to end up, and fans should expect them to put in the effort to improve upon these placings in Vegas. Neither team wants to find themselves outside of the Top 4 at the Natioinal Championships, where their finish will define the success of their season.

In the Losers Bracket Semi-Finals, Ambush found themselves on the short end of the scoreboard for the second time this tournament, once again at the hand of Triggers Down. Finishing fourth for the second time this season, Ambush has managed to improve their seed at the National Championships, passing Carbon in the points standings for the sixth spot overall.

The stage was set…

The Losers Bracket Finals featured an extended, best-of-11 series, as Final Boss had already defeated Triggers Down 3-2 earlier in the tournament. This match would decide which team would advance to the finals to take on Str8 Rippin. Triggers Down came out on a tear, stunning Final Boss as they took four consecutive games. Final Boss looked frustrated, confused, and almost as if they had given up at this point. Their tournament had come to an end, just one win short of the Finals from which they have been absent since MLG Meadowlands. Triggers Down, on the other hand, would live to fight another round, getting their first shot at Str8 Rippin in the tournament.

At this point, both teams had to have been feeling pretty good. Str8 Rippin was sitting pretty with the knowledge that Triggers Down would have to take two consecutive series from them, while they would only need to win one. Triggers Down also came into the series on a wave of confidence, having won seven consecutive games. If there were any team that TD hoped to face in the Finals, it was likely Str8 Rippin. Before the event, the teams had LAN’ed to prepare, and it was Triggers Down who seemed to emerge from the LAN as the better team. Of course, pre-event LAN’s are one thing, but tournament finishes are something completely different.
