![]() As the second round of competition comes to a close here in the Rainbow Six Vegas 2 venue, the excitement is beginning to radiate through every corner of the room. After receiving a bye in the first round, Lost Cause and MoB Rage have just entered the competition for the very first time, as they took on Rewritten and Iconz just moments ago. The stakes for this round are abnormal high for this early in the competition, due to the fact that the winners will secure their spot in the Winners Bracket Finals, as well as a Top 3 finish. First up was the number one seeded Lost Cause, as they took on Iconz, who were riding high off of a win over Instill Fear earlier in the afternoon. Iconz started off the match very strong, taking the first map from Lost Cause and seemingly sending them into a state of shock. That mind-state continued into the next round, as Iconz pulled off yet another win over the number one seed. And then it happened - the first upset of the Rainbow Six Vegas 2 National Championship. With a head full of steam, Iconz took the third and final map from Lost Cause to win the match 3-0. Directly beside them was the second seeded MoB Rage taking on Rewritten. Rewritten, who has remained one of this seasons top contenders throughout 2008, defeated Dynasty LANslaughter earlier today to place themselves here against Rage. Unfortunately for Rewritten, Rage was firing on all cylinders tonight. In just four games, Rage sent the former champions to the Losers Bracket by a 3-1 final score. And with that, the Winners Bracket Finals has been determined. Iconz and MoB Rage will go toe to toe tomorrow afternoon for the right to move into the 2008 National Championship Finals. As for the losers, Lost cause will begin playing Dynasty LANslaughter, and Rewritten will battle it out with Instill Fear. The winner of those two matches will meet in the Losers Bracket Finals.
