![]() Crowned in Vegas as the first ever Call of Duty 4 National Champions, CA FEAR sits down to give us their take on the event, their future, and give some tips to new players looking to go pro. MLG: First off, how does it feel be the 2008 Call of Duty 4 National Champions? FeaR PacMaN: It feels great to know that we are the best Call of Duty team in the world. There’s really not much anyone can say to us now. FeaR Choppy: To me, it feels really great ‘cause Call of duty 4 is a huge game and it’s awesome knowing that you’re the best at the most competitive gametypes MLG can offer. Plus, I have been playing since COD2, and it’s a good feeling to actually get to experience something like this. FeaR ASSASS1N: I’m just happy that all the time and effort I put in this game finally paid off and winning in Vegas meant more than just the money to me. FeaR Moho: Well, it feels pretty good for the fact that we went into this tournament knowing that we were the underdogs because of all of the hype people were shouting for EnvyUs. So coming out on top is definitely the best feeling I’ve had in my gaming career. MLG: This was the first MLG Event for all of you. How much different was it competing right next to each other as opposed to playing online? FeaR PacMaN: The sound in the venue was much different than sitting at home in your room with your headset on. The energy was crazy and sitting next to my teammates was an experience that can’t be matched. I told them all there as I will now that playing online will never feel the same after that. FeaR Choppy: It was really really fun because I have known each of these guys for three years and we finally got to meet in person. Also, the competition was a lot better now that there were no misconducts in matches because we had people regulating it. FeaR Moho: Playing next to each other and playing online was an amazing experience because you can still talk to your team and guide them through if you see something they do not see. The experience in playing right next to each other really takes gaming to the next level for competition.
CA FEAR takes the first ever COD4 National Championship.
MLG: What was the highlight of the tournament for each of you? FeaR PacMaN: Mine is easy. It was when I 1v4ed TBRE on Crash SnD in our very first round and map. I ended up going 11-2. I don’t think I have ever played that well before. FeaR Choppy: I guess the highlight of my own gameplay was when I shot truly through the window of the helicopter on Crash in the last round of the tournament. I didn’t think much of it, but it got a huge response. FeaR ASSASS1N: The match against Head trauma in the Loser Bracket Finals where I four-pieced the entire team on Crash domination and pulled at least 30 kills to advance our team into the championship bracket. FeaR Moho: The best highlight for me at the LAN was when I clutched a 1v2 against Head Trauma and I head shot deagled exiiile through the stairs on Strike to win the round. Hearing the whole crowd behind me go crazy was pretty exciting and made my team and I play a lot better. |
