Quick Attack Canceling

![]() Quick attack canceling is the process of performing a jump after Pikachu uses a quick attack that hits the ground. You can quick attack cancel from both the first and second iteration of the quick attack, after which you can perform any air attack you would normally be able to perform during a jump, or you can simply quick attack again. These are the steps needed to Quick Attack Cancel: 1. Jump 2. Perform the Up-B quick attack maneuver so the end of it hits the ground. 3. Press up on the control stick (rotate up) or press the X or Y-button. The first step here is actually optional (you can perform the quick attack directly from a standing position). However, since this is more difficult it is better to first get accustomed to performing the technique after jumping. Quick attack canceling can be used for a variety of purposes. Aside from general movement around the stage, the quick attack can be used to fake opponents out, to retreat, to approach, and to generally overwhelm the opponent with speed. It is not a good idea to QAC aimlessly around the stage, so make sure you have a purpose or general goal when using the technique. Usually the best option after QAC'ing into an opponent is to use your U-Air or F-Air. If the quick attack hits the opponent it will do 3% damage, but will cause almost no stun, which is why it is important to quickly activate your selected air attack close to the ground just after jumping. |
