Wingdashing with Pit

![]() Wingdashing is a technique that only Pit can perform that allows for quick horizontal left and right movements. The name for the technique mirrors wavedashing from Melee because of its similar application. In addition to traversing the stage quicker, wingdashing can be used as a feint, where you can dash toward the opponent and quickly wingdash back away (to avoid a baited attack from the forward dash). The steps for wingdashing are simple but will take awhile to learn and become accustomed to: 1. Jump by pressing the X or Y-button 2. Press Up-B to activate the Wings of Icarus (WoI) 3. Rotate the control stick left or right for the direction of movement you wish to use 4. Press down on the C-stick to activate the D-Air and cancel the WoI animation Wingdashing is difficult to perform at first and the inputs need to be pressed as quickly as possible after the completion of each step. If you have performed the technique correctly, Pit will make a quick movement to the left or right (depending on the control stick direction that you inputted) and will land without any lag. Landing with zero lag is part of the keys to this technique because it returns your character to a neutral position from which you can perform any attack (or wingdash again). |
