MAJOR LEAGUE GAMING ANNOUNCES 2009 SPONSOR LINE UP

Digital Sports League Sees All 2008 Sponsors Return, Adds Several New Brand Partners

NEW YORK—MARCH 18, 2009—Major League Gaming, the professional video game league, today announced an impressive, and expanded, sponsor line up for 2009. The sponsor roster—Dr Pepper, Old Spice, Stride, Ballpark, BIC Comfort 3 Advance, Bungie, Castrol, Gamestop, HP, Ubisoft, and Xbox 360—are all brands who believe that MLG is a powerful new sports league that can uniquely reach and influence the young male demographic.

“We’re thrilled to see the enthusiastic return and expansion of our league sponsor partners for 2009,” said Matthew Bromberg, president and CEO of MLG. “The economy may be difficult, but when a partnership moves the needle, marketers respond.”

“We strive to choose partners that bring more to Dr Pepper fans,” said Terry Hockens, brand manager of marketing for Dr Pepper.  “The 2008 MLG season and our ongoing Dr Pepper promotion featuring MLG on our bottles has been a huge success, and we’re excited to return for the 2009 season.”

“As guys embrace new ways to have fun and fuel their competitive drive, it is important that Old Spice find ways to evolve with them,” said James Moorhead, Old Spice brand manager.  “Since our successful 2007 program with MLG, we’ve evolved into breakthrough new programming and an amazing team sponsorship with Instinct. We’re excited to be able to help further expand competitive gaming, creating new opportunities for guys to be successful in something they are so passionate about.”

MLG’s 2009 Pro Circuit Season Opener will be held April 3-5 at the Meadowlands and fans can come to see their favorite players live and in person the entire weekend. Sponsor activities, amateur free-for-all tournaments, and MLG’s exciting live programming will be happening all weekend long.
