Up first in this edition of the MLG Columbus Behind the Match-Up series is Triggers Down vs. The Dynasty. Fresh off of one of the best performances of their career, Triggers Down will dive into the competition at MLG Columbus boasting the top seed for the very first time. Statistically speaking, Triggers Down was undeniably the best team in Meadowlands - by a long shot. Their route through the bracket was as grueling as it gets, as it forced them to play more matches than any other team in the Championship Bracket.
Regardless of their early loss to BTH, Triggers Down’s statistics make it easy to see why they’re the Pro Circuit’s top dogs.
To be frank, every Top 8 team has some catching up to do. The acquisition of Heinz and Pistola during the off season catapulted Triggers Down light years ahead of the competition, and they have the stats to prove it. Here’s an example of just how dominant TD was: Triggers Down’s opponent, The Dynasty, won a total of four games in Meadowlands. Now, multiply that number by seven and it’s still not equivalent to the amount of games TD won at the very same tournament. Triggers Down walked through the fire and flames at Meadowlands, showing everyone why they are the best team in Halo 3 right now. The Dynasty was one of the handful of amateur teams that put on a great performance in Meadowlands. After battling their way through the Open Bracket without dropping a single match, The Dynasty headed into the Championship Bracket with all of the momentum any amateur team could ask for. They did manage to take out the 9th seeded Antigravity in Placement Round 3, but were taken out in their very next match against their Open Bracket rival, High Society. Since then, ThuggishKilla has moved on to PT End Result, and we’ll be eagerly awaiting to see how his replacement will perform in his place. As always, it’s time to take an even closer look at this match-up with a game-by-game analysis… |
